#1: Ruffys GTI HDI (updated page 6) Author: Ruffy_206, Location: BristolPosted: Fri Mar 05, 2010 1:41 pm ---- my first china blue 1.4 hdi
learnt my lesson on that one.
it got write off got a pay out on it and started to save up in the mean time i had a xsara which i still got now as i cba to sell it.
mum and dad give me money for my birthday so i picked up my little baby.
she looked like this when i got her
the first week i had it i put some bits from my old car on it sp grill, spoiler, cc'ed washers and wiper cover, laguna spliter
also bought some masked valeos so got them fitted and this is how she looked.
next up was my front badge. and sp cap black bolts ftw
it then stayed like that till i could save some money again.
had a bit of spare cash so went and got some paint and done my fogs as i had a spare set and would also match my lights.
i done my first track day at kemble even the misses loved it:) done 10 seconds dead on 0-60 aswell with pure bold tyres put these on as i didnt want to reck my brand new ones.
my wheels then went honda charcoal grey which i really liked and was happy with how they looked on the car.
also calipers went white so you could see them.
next on my list was to get her down. so picked up some intraxs coilovers from a specailst in exeter and fitted them my self along with new topmounts, drop links and new nuts and bolts.
needed some new rear lights and pickes these up for 30 posted new so had them even tho thier not the led's i wanted.
added a carbon bonnet which again i really liked but thats life.
stuff needed to be sold to get some money so it turned out to look like this.
managed to get the 180 carbon bits for £65 so couldnt miss out on that also was in my home town.
need to get a picture but we all no what that looks like.
got a 180 binnacal cheap so that went on also with the tweeter build bought of the same chap as the binnacal.
i have done some audio stuff to put havent got a clue what order ect so i will just put up pics of what i done.
yes i no thier not screwed in properly i didnt have anything so was a rummage round the garage to find something to put them on. have changed it now tho lol.
planning on going active so picked up this little amp for £1
its not tidy as i was just putting it in to see if it works and it does so active soon i hope.
i cant think of anything else to add if i do i will. plans are to get some new wheels dont have a clue what yet tho.
sp arches
paint calipers again.
full seal up the doors inner skin.
a boot build
hope to get this done by fcs target anyways:)
Right then a bit of an update long over due
20/07/10
going by the list above i managed to seal up the doors and do my boot build
Went to pugfest and loved it
New wheels
Sp archs are being sprayed atm along with a debadge grill i made up
Bonnet bra untill i get another bonnet and fill in the recess.
Few random pics
22/07/10
My black bolt cap was fading so i tought i would be different.
Update 25/07/10
Had to do something a bit different with the wheels so cut up one of my wheel whores stickers
Update 9/08/10
debadge grill and sp archs which im unsure might be coming back off.
Update 20/08/10
didnt have the time to myself a new sub box so ended up paying some one but am happy with what they done cant wait to get it installed now
also i am not happy with how the debadge grill turned out so am redoing it with some oem look customisation.
update 01/09/10
box in along with re trim.
here is the grill now along with some plastic welding to the slats at the back to get rid of the hole.
also fitted some 20mm spacers to the front and it looks alot better. stance wise.
was fed up with putting back to black on the plastic roof strip so got hold of some vinyl from my mate as a good price so wrapped them in gold.
UPDATE 3/09/10
wanted to add a bit of rear fill and also wanted to have ago at getting bigger speakers in thier
got diamond d362i 6" in thier running off the h.u and tbh they sound pretty good
also fitted some more lights in the boot.
Any more comments welcome
All of my mods are done in away where it is easy to put back to standard or i buy extra parts to use.

#5: Re: Ruffys GTI HDI Author: Brian, Location: VVT Land, FifePosted: Fri Mar 05, 2010 2:41 pm ---- not sure at what stage i like it best. If it was my car i'd probably have it as it is now. But the c/f bonnet and graphite nimrod look was cool too.
That amp will be gash. Get something decent to power those speakers!
#6: Re: Ruffys GTI HDI Author: Ruffy_206, Location: BristolPosted: Fri Mar 05, 2010 2:43 pm ---- lol the amp is for the tweetes. i got lots of amps got an xetec the other day which is a german genesis just avent got round to install in it its also to big to put under the seat.

loved it with the carbon bonnet! everytime i see a 206 with a carbon bonnet makes me want to hurry up and get mine as soon as possible!
Did Peugeot never recall the GTiHDi's for the FAP problems?
It's not a 'problem' as such, think it will just flash up once the filter has become blocked, normally a regeneration sorts this out. Still a pain in the a**e though.
need to PM you... one heading your way shortly. Last edited by twed207 on Wed Jul 21, 2010 4:42 pm; edited 1 time in total

did you need longer wheel bolts to put the spacers on? think i'm gonna get some spacers for mine because i dont like how the wheels sit way inside the arch... only 10mm or summit like.

new pillar builds that need to be trimmed.

What size tyres you go for on the BSX..?
#68: Re: Ruffys GTI HDI (updated 3/09/10) Author: Ruffy_206, Location: BristolPosted: Tue Mar 08, 2011 4:06 pm ---- thanks lads. pillar build im very happy with sound amazing aswell.
the amp is mounted pretty soilded. mounted onto 18mm mdf which has 3 big brackets on it bent to the right angle. so sould be fine.
and i went for 195 45 16 in the end because 40 are to small for the type of roads i drive on 300 miles a week. same they done do 185 really.

#74: Re: Ruffys GTI HDI (updated 8/03/11) Author: Ruffy_206, Location: BristolPosted: Wed Mar 09, 2011 10:31 am ---- Plan for the mo is to run the p2 to the tweets in a pillar ones in the mirror sail are not going to work. Then run p4 bridged to kids and p1/sub to the sub.
Want to try this first as it means I don't need an extra crossover/line driver plus can time align them all from head unit. Need to wire it all up yet just running front active off the iPod ATM.

i do put quite alot of hours into my cleaning. the front has just been resprayed so that helps
but i use alot of the poorboys range. also chemical guys. do some times revert back to autoglym think its more about how hard you work than what you use.
spillter is a laguna one think you can pick one up for around 20-30 and just drill some holes and use some nuts and bolts. then cut the ends odd job done.

That has allways been the cards, but touch wood it hasn't gone wrong yet. If I still got her next year and when it does then that will be happening along with single mass fly.
