no the splines were fine Seabrook, just the center holes for torx bolts that had flatened over. I'm not a small lad and i gave it some welly with a heavy duty punch and 3lb lump hammer.... not even a sign of movement.
Top one was fine as said above, and we did lift the trailing arm at most possible variations lol tried for over an hour to shift it. Didnt have heat available, though there's alot to melt round there so wont be easy that way either lol

Think he said its a 2000 mate

11 year old car probably need a bit more patient Laughing

or alternatively you can knock out the trailing arm and then adjust the height

Patient as in hit it for longer? lol

Would it not be difficult knocking out the trailing arm?

it would be easier to knock out the arm as normally only one side of the bar got suck.

but you will have to remove the anti roll bar first

We did comtimplate this, but torsion bars are new to me. So i didnt want to try taking the trailing arm off with out knowing whats holding it together.
just a nut and spline again?

Ok, cool. Well, we'll see if it comes out with heat. If not, that's something that can be considered. Cheers Smile

nice! good guide, but is that all that holds it on, 2 torsion bars and the ARB end plates? So it will just knock off with a hammer then?

Ok, so we couldn't do it. Put it all back together in the end. But where we had hit the torsion bar so hard, it damaged the thread...so we had to rectify that. So anyway, gonna try again on Saturday, I'm gonna try and get hold of a blow torch. Hopefully will make life easier.

you'll never get it off with a blowtorch use oxy acetaline then perswade by hitting the casting with a big hammer 12lb should shift it
when it starts 2 move then wind it off with the bolt

its better with the subframe removed
