None of the online towbar sites are much help, can the 180's take a tow bar.

Reason i'm unsure is because of the oversize exhaust that takes up the spare wheel area... want one for Thule tow bar cycle carrier, normal bike rack is ruining my bootlid :/

If anyone has a towbar lying around, that'd be even better.

not with a standard exhaust although with the different design of the janspeed system or a similer custom one cant see why a normal 206 one wouldnt fit

Have you thought about a roof rack system could be cheaper and less unsightly as they can be removed

The GTi 180 isn't legally allowed to have a tow-bar fitted as originally, the backbox went across the back bumper.

So not sure how that will work and if you need to tell DVLA that you've got a different exhaust on it that allows for for a tow-bar lol.

Swear ive seen in the manual that your not supposed to tow anything with a 180 something to do with damaging the rear beam i could well be talking a load of b******s though lol.

I have a towbar on my 180, no problems with the exhaust and I have the scorpion cat back system fitted, doesnt look great but it sure beats towing a trailor by hand Laughing

I'd much prefer to put bikes on the roof. That way no tow bar is needed and the bikes don't get dirty. The car lights can be seen too. If it was a long high speed drive I'd find a way of putting the bikes inside the car.

I can get two mountain bikes in the back of my 180, but unfortunately I cant get my motorbike in, so a trailor is necessary.

I thought the 180's had a 0 tow load like the civic type R's, meaning your not meant to tow with them.
