First post here, just replaced my 206 with another, (thank you kindly to the lady who wrote off my old one!)
Its coming up on 40k miles, which the schedule indicates is time for the auto transmission fluid to be replaced (feel free to express your outrage at my gearbox choice )
The book specifies ESSO ATF 4HP20-AL4, while my previous 206 specified LT71141. I was wondering if anyone had experience of this, are the two interchangeable & is there a suitable replacement spec fluid I could use rather than ESSO/Mobils own?

putting any other ATF oil in the AL4 apart from the esso one is like putting a bomb inside your car.

If you asked for it over the counter they would only sell you branded ATF/oil. As long as it's the same grade/weight it will be fine don't believe every thing you here of peugeot or any other manufacture.
Not saying don't use the esso stuff just there is other brands out there.

but for personal use, it is quite hard to beat esso/ mobil's price
I'm not to clued up on prices but like you said I don't think the stuff Peugeot recommend is to expensive and you don't want to be trying to save money on oils/lubricants/transmition fluid as that's the they are the only thing protecting the vital conponants. All ways buy the best you can afford.
