Apologies if this is mentioned somewhere, did a search and didnt come up with much.

Get it on a diagnostic scan. That will tell you the airbag fault as well

#3: Re: Airbag light Author: Abzynthe, Posted: Tue Jun 28, 2011 9:29 am ---- reading this, Ive just thought, When i plugged in the passanger airbag switch (I dont have a passanger airbag) it did the same beeping, I disconnected it, but the light stays on for about 10 seconds after the cars started then goes off, is that normal. Also would that store a fault code?

Why connect a switch up for equipment you dont have?
The airbag ecu is smart enough to see the switch & also smart enough to see the passenger airbag is missing
#6: Re: Airbag light Author: Abzynthe, Posted: Tue Jun 28, 2011 10:49 am ---- I did it by mistake, I just plugged everything in when putting the new instrument panel on.
#7: Re: Airbag light Author: danart22, Location: DevonPosted: Wed Jun 29, 2011 3:11 pm ---- Further to my original post took the car along to the garage today and had a scan...
Came up with the following and was wondering if anyone could make any sense of them?
802 - Ignition circuit drivers side airbag stage 2 - open circuit
06F- Airbag passenger side airbag deactivated
Now it threw up these codes as well but the guy at the garage seems to think these may be old codes not cleared?
042 - Driving speed signal not plausible
P0215 - Main relay defective
0110 or d cant read his writing - Right trn signal indicator faulty
01b7 - Brake switch faulty
The guy says i need a new comm2000 and it will cost about 200 plus 43 an hour labor and it will take about two hours.that sound right??
Have no idea what the above codes mean but i guess the top ones relate to the comm2000 and the others are old codes as i think i would know if my main relay was defective! and my turn signals all work fine.
Oh he also said that even with a new com2000 the airbag light might not go off and i may need a new airbag too.. anyone help decifer this foreign language for me??
#8: Re: Airbag light Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Wed Jun 29, 2011 3:33 pm ---- Robbing you blind there. A com takes under an hour to replace, and they don't cost nowhere near that much
Is your's even plexed? 1.9 plexed engines are uber rare
Did any of the engine fault codes return once he cleared them?
#9: Re: Airbag light Author: danart22, Location: DevonPosted: Wed Jun 29, 2011 3:51 pm ---- not sure mate as im not sure if he cleared them. Im guessing mine is a MUX as it has the radio stalk thingy??
Not sure of any other way of finding out it its plexed or non plexed.
