#1: "Creaking" when accelerating Author: deanparkr, Location: United KingdomPosted: Sat Jul 02, 2011 5:29 pm ---- Hi all!
Quick question.. I have recently broken down twice in the last month once due to a broken front suspension spring and then again when the front exhaust fell off.
With those items fixed, now whenever I accelerate from standstill (like at traffic lights), if it is a fast acceleration I hear a "creaking" noise from the front suspension about 50% of the time.
I cant re-produce it when someone else is in the car listening typically as it seems to be intermittent.
Wondered if 206 experts might have any idea as to the cause?

Ah, didnt realise it needed bedding in. I'll see if it goes away after a while then

Mine is still creaking after the new suspension has been on for nearly a month. I've been told it's most likely the top mounts. Have you replaced yours?

Nope - how much are top mounts fitted roughly?
#7: Re: "Creaking" when accelerating Author: Mike_XS, Location: SouthamptonPosted: Sun Jul 03, 2011 4:49 am ---- Bearings are £25ish and Top mounts are around £45. This is what a mechanic I know told me. So prices could be different where you are.
Edit - Not sure how much fitted. Shouldn't take longer than an hour though.

I'll give it another week or so and see what happens and then get them to have another look if needs be.
