At the end of the day its just a tin box you thrown away when its worn out / beyond economic repair.

Tax ran out on 01 11 2008 & its not on the insurance database, that means its either on SORN somewhere or its had its slow boat road to China via Newport for recycling Laughing

I own this car now (not for sale)

I bought this car in April 2016. It passed its first Mot since November 2008 in January 2017.

Some how it ended up in a field in Forfar, Scotland. Was looking very sorry for itself, the whole car was covered in leaves spiders etc, they advertised it as spares or repair.

I replaced so much stuff I cant remember everything - wishbones, top mounts, front springs, new discs and pads all round, new tyres, engine mountsetc etc

It did let me down once with the clutch release bearing, but it now has a lightweight flywheel new clutch and quaife limited slip diff.

sry for adding to a really old thread

No need to be sorry, those of us in the GTi 180 Preservation Society are glad to hear that another one has been rescued!

Watching the continuous Facecrap threads is sometimes depressing, until you remember the more that go the more valuable they'll start becoming.

I was looking on auto trader at 180s yesterday. I can't believe how much they are asking for some of them. Trade one in and they'd give a few hundred quid. Forecourt price are much higher than that.

I hate to imagine. Couldn't believe I was seeing one on the forecourt at close to £3000.

Thought it must be really low mileage or something. But no it wasn't, over 90k and one of the guys at the adjacent car wash bought it, so I got to take a look at it. Whilst it was mostly very tidy inside and out, it hadn't been looked after engine-wise properly.

A thrilling story comes to an end. Or does it?

Badladz3 rescue the car from a demise that was forecast 7 years ago...

And does a holy thread revival. BRAVO
