If it's what I think it is (a resistor) don't bother. Won't make a difference
Sorry mate

If they do work I'm buying 10 for my 180, surely 10 resistors will give my car minimum 300bhp, do you think if I put 11 resistors on it will make my car 4 wheel drive aswell?! I hope so Wink

You'd get more performance out of some old school 'go faster stripes'. Tip-ex ones would be better than this bit of tat.

P.S. Welcome to the forum, shame you didn't ask here before you went to ebay.

Edward knows everything, he's not telling you because 1, the thing you've bought off eBay doesn't work, and 2 if you can't find out for yourself where it is your not going to have much luck fitting it!

To be fair we dont know exactly what the OP has purchased so all the comments so far are pointless really.

You are all thinking its one of the stupid ebay engine mods.

We're not telling you because there's no sense your time fitting it (you've already wasted your money). At best it'll do nothing, it may make you car worse.

P.S. No, the electric superchargers and fuel conditioning magnets don't work either.

But you dont know and no else does until the OP says, so jumping on the band wagon and telling them they have been shafted is a bit wrong considering they are a new member as well.

And we wonder why new members dont stay around that long if this is the sort of response they get.........

It's the Intake Air Temperature sensor fitted on the throttle body.

However, he is not telling you because its a pointless hack that makes
the ECU think there is a different temperature than the actual value
which changes the mixture parameters etc.

It is widely accepted as a waste of money and fuel for little if any gains
performance-wise. If you want to improve things with modifications etc,
try asking around here of tried and tested ways that people would recomend.

Best of luck.

To be fair his first post was asking for a iat sensor location so he can fit something he bought off eBay, what's the betting he doesn't come on for another 6 months until he needs to ask where exactly you put the fuel saving magnets as his mpg hasn't changed! If I'm wrong welcome to the op Smile

Whats the point, it could be classed as an illegal engine modification and fail the MOT next year if VOSA have their way.

I was thinking about fitting a kiddies windmill on my roof and then the spinning motion would add extra power (in the same fashion a jet engine would) and increase economy. It might even work better than the resistor.

Edit. just thought, the extra weight might be an issue, sod it i'll just change my exhaust layout and see if it helps me corner faster.

These are the biggest load of s**t ever. They blank off the Air flow sensor to try and full the car into overfuelling. Whereas in reality they do jack s**t except turn on the EML and sometimes put the car in limp mode.

Welcome to info.... Come and see me if you want to extract some resonable power from your GTi. I can pop bits on ebay if it makes it easier....
