Vibrates when clutch is engaged

#1: Vibrates when clutch is engaged Author: karimali831, Location: England PostPosted: Fri Jul 22, 2011 3:43 pm

After a visit to the garage the mechanics tested if engine mounts was the cause of this and said it was not. They said it had to do something with the rear can anyone tell me what he is on about? I rather buy parts online and pay for labour only at garage, I have to visit again as they didn't know the exact cause and neither do I obviously.

I try explain again...

The slower I engage clutch to biting point the less it judders, quicker I engage biting point the worce it judders/vibrates.

Thanks for any advice please, time to get this sorted it's horrible. Sad

sounds like the thrust bearing in the clutch is on its way out fella, got no idea why they think it has to do with the rear ??

Should this get it fixed if it is clutch bearing?

cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBay...917wt_1249

Any ideas how much garages will charge to get it replaced?
What about the clutch plate?

Thanks Smile

Ive been quoted £300 + vat for a new clutch and 4 hours labour today. Sounds similar to mine with the vibrating, mine was the release baring though.

So a whole new clutch just for thrust bearing? I don't know much about clutches but why is it when a part of a clutch does not function or work you need a whole new clutch kit...

I had my clutch replaced and it went away for like a day. Turns out my flywheel needed skimming.

The time taken to dismantle it and replace a part would cost you more than a new clutch kit
