#1: Touch up pens Author: Razpulsedj, Location: Partying with the Info ShufflersPosted: Tue Aug 09, 2011 3:27 am ---- After entering show and shine at USC and the judges not giving a s**t about my car because of stone chips ive decided to get them sorted lols, i went to halfords but not paying £15 for 1 pen with hardly anything in!
Has anyone found anywhere else they would recommend for these or anywhere online?
Cheers

Although saying that, it wont be much cheaper if it is atall.. The halfords ones last ages btw, the amount you use to touchup a stone chip is liturally nothing.
To do a good job of the touchup though you WILL need to learn how to sand the bobbles left behind from touchups smooth with some 2500grit w&d

Most of the touch up pens you buy are about 12ml. Not sure but IIRC the Peugeot ones come with a pot of lacquer too. Some of the Halfords ones come with primer and lacquer.

#8: Re: Touch up pens Author: drew, Location: leicestershirePosted: Tue Aug 09, 2011 5:01 am ---- I had some scratches along my passenger side door that I used one of those touch up pens on, and as lil p said it just made it more noticeable but then I gave it a bit of a sand with some wet and dry and I good buff with some T cut and you can't really see it at all now.

#12: Re: Touch up pens Author: macca1411, Location: Westhoughton, LancashirePosted: Tue Aug 09, 2011 6:18 am ---- Alls I did was touch in the chip, allowed paint to harden and then t-cut smooth, quick coat of wax and it was done. No need for sanding or lacquer, blended in nicely.
The paint was mixed to match the car rather than just going off the code so made it a lot less noticeable
