Don't think so. Am looking to do a track day before Winter though!

#228: Re: Ape's SEAT Leon Cupra R 225 *Remapped and ready for Track!* Author: Ape, Location: Clipping the Apex!Posted: Sat Aug 21, 2010 11:34 am ---- Eh up!!
Had the car remapped today
The ECU had to be removed because of a Revo Trial Map that was on it previously removed some of the memory banks required to enable mapping. Once this was done and dusted a few runs on the Rolling Road and a bit of tweaking saw the Leon reach 285bhp and 318lb ft which I'm happy with considering the ambient temperature was in the low 30's!.
The acceleration is a little savage now I was grinning from ear to ear all the way home, just hoping the roads dry out a bit so I can have a go tonight. Spinning up well into 4th Gear on a damp road doesn't make for fun driving
Massive thanks to Will @ Performance Torque who did the work, highly recommended

It's... taking some getting used to. In the wet forget letting the turbo spool because the tyres just light up. It's so responsive now compared to before, and fuel consumption isn't that much more either. My face is aching from grinning so much. I think that'll do for now with the power side of things, need to get on with the cage and polycarb windows and remaining weight loss

I may do, near 300bhp and over 300lb ft is what I was expecting and I'm happy with it for the time being, would like to concentrate on handling / stopping a little better now. To hit the 450 mark is mega money that seems a bit of a waste in a FWD car. In the wet the first 4 (nearly 5) gears are useless as soon as the turbo spools up, combination of tyres and power I've got. Even in the dry it will spin in first and second (without dumping the clutch) when the turbo comes in.

#240: Re: Ape's SEAT Leon Cupra R 225 *Remapped and ready for Track!* Author: Ape, Location: Clipping the Apex!Posted: Tue Aug 24, 2010 8:11 am ---- It is but don't forget that's peak torque. it doesn't run at that all through the rev range (although not far off ). There's a few other LCR's running that power with stock rods and they've been ok
