You will really struggle with getting the door ones off without removing the doorcards I doubt it's possible as they need to be undone and reconnected to the solenoids inside.

Don't know about the inigtion barrel though but on my saxo they cut it off and welded it back on Confused

Door locks are p**s easy!!!

You will need to take the doorcard off to gain access to behind the door lock, basically its got a metal holder, get a flat head and a hammer, and basically place the flat head into the corner of the metal holder, and hit with hammer, and then just switch the door lock over, ensuring the plastic bit on the door lock is back into position!

Its as easy as that,

unsure on ignition barrel though!

Do either of you 2 actually know what your talking about? Rolling Eyes

Door lock barrels on a 206 & most other PSA Peugeot / Citroen stuff, p**s easy job, less then 90 seconds a side, no need to remove the door card, Peugeot designed in an easy way of removing the lock barrel securing clip.

Remove rubber bung.

Insert your threaded tool & screw it in to the clip.

Push the tool in to the door to release the clip.

Lift the barrel out & unclip it.

Refitting is reversal of removal.

Ignition barrel - about 5 minutes:

Remove the plastic trim around the steering lock.

Unplug the barrel from the wiring loom.

Check for a small securing grub screw in end of barrel ( not all barrels have this! )

Insert key & turn to the LOCK SERVICE position.

Push the securing clip down & then pull the barrel out the steering lock, if the transponder aerial gets in the way unplug / unclip it.

Refitting is reversal of removal.

Yes I do, thanks.

Done it before and taking the door card made it 10 times easier and only took 30 seconds to remove.

Other people have opinions and different ways of doing things you know.

I needed to remove it anyway and after trying it seemed a logical order to do it in Laughing

Thanks MrBSI I never knew that they made it so easy.
My dads barrel is worn and I was putting him off getting a new lock for it because of having to strip the door down, but that makes it far easier.

As always, you knowledge is invaluable.

Although I didn't know the easy way, I know 1 way of doing it!
So no need to say I dont know what I'm doing, because at the end of the day I changed the door lock, whether it was a long way or short way, thats how I done it, and thats what I told him. Instead of saying you dont know s**t! You could of instead said you could do it the long way or do it this way.... would of sounded better to me!

And FYI when I changed my doors over, the new one was a manual mirror, when my old one was electric, so I had to take off the door cards to change all the wiring, or are you going to say I done that wrong and I know nothing?

BOY BOYS please. MrBSI is infact right but besides all that does any of you know if there is a guide with photos because im not sure what people mean when they say i have to Insert my threaded tool & screw it in to the clip and Push the tool in to the door to release the clip.

- whats a threaded tool?
- what clip?
- Push the tool in to the door to release the clip?

As the hole is only a small hole of abour 2cm i am unable to see whats what never mind trying to see a clip lol.

NOW CAN YOU SEE WHY PICTURES WOULD BE HELPFUL TO ME Laughing

sorted the door locks, in the end it was easier to take off the door cards and as soon as i did everything made much more sense. i just used a long screw to screw into the clicp give a little wiggle as i pulled it and it realeased the barrel. Have to say without taking off the door car i still would not have done it because its rather fiddly getting the arm on the lock into the door locking mechanism, anyway jobs a good one, just the ignition to do tomorrow but that should be straight forward enough. thanks to all for your input

managerd to replace the ignition barrel but OMG look at the state of this ignition wiring - Iam surprised the car had not gone up in smoke, the idiot that did the wiring had even used white paper masking tape on two of the wires, what a numb nut.

That's a terrible attempt at botching a job.

If I were you I'd be looking at getting a new ignition switch as soon as possible.

Does the switch and loom come as part of the lock set? Didn't know that. I'm used to the switch screwing on the back of the barrel with tiny bolts. Made it so easy to start with a screwdriver.
