Hello! im new to the forum, my names Warren and im from South Wales. bought a black 206, 1.4 GLX yesterday for a very good price!

Heres a few pics of my old cars...

Anyway, Im new to the 206 lingo so any info as to what to do next ect, dont be shy Wink

The 206...

For the year its not in bad condition, 1 or 2 nasty scratches leading to dodgy touchups and the expected stonechips on the front. It had a straight through exhaust thats already doing my head in Razz Nimrods, Looks like SP arches and spoiler, a 'lockwood' grille and not sure wether the lex-a**e lights are standard or not? Oh also has GTi interior thats seen better days but all good.

Got a few plans, just general tidying up with some GTi headlights, might lower it if i can sort out the enormous curb off my drive and the ratte cans might make an appearance.

Anyway to the progress...

Spent most of the day giving her a good, much needed scrub, and you may be able to tell by my previous cars i put alot (maybe too much) effort into making it clean. Heres a few before & after pics or todays sesh!

Before

After

The cars scrubs up very well!! You made a nice job of the front grille!
Get rid of them lexa**e lights like you said and the car looks very well. A subtle mod would be to change the orange side repeaters to clear ones or smoked ones!
Your blue corsa looked the part! Very Happy

I can see you will do good things with it. Btw the GTI lights you are referring to are just the Phase 2 (facelift) ones. There are quite a few decent after market rear lights for the 206.

For the rear lights either phase 2 OR go with 206+ lights, there very very rare in the UK as the 206+ was never sold here Wink

As its a T reg, i'd guess the car is a flat black
Onyx Black - EXY

Not to be confused with
Obsidian Black - EXL, which was later, 2003 i think, and mainly on gti 180's and such, like my xsi lol

I reckon being an early 206 that the white info sticker will be on the passenger side suspension strut tower under the bonnet.

You will also need a non plexed GTI / double optic headlamp stalk to make crystal headlamps work correctly.

You MAY be lucky & find the grey 3 pin headlamp connectors already tucked up behind the headlamps ready & waiting, if not then you also need to order the following parts from your local Peugeot / Citroen main dealer.

Grey H7 connector 6541 J6 £2.30 elec clip holder & you need 2.

Pin for the connector 6541 E6 £0.53 Harness clip & you need 6.

Thats awesome mate thanks for your help. Is the stalk simply plug & play with the said connectors in place? also best place to get a stalk? Will any Ph2 stalk do?

Fit the connectors then stalk is simple plug & play, NOT phase 2!

You need a non plexed phase 1 GTI / double optic headlamp stalk

OR

PM Lee on here as he can tweak your original stalk so it works correctly with the crystals.

Picked up my lights today and very eager to get them in, gettin the relays ect tomorrow to fit them... Was gonna smoke them but dont think im gonna bother just yet.

I managed to get an SP handbrake (i think). The guy selling the lights had a box full of bits from a grand turisme he had broken and gave it to me and happend to have the handbrake in with it! Bargain!

Also should have some SP sliders and a Ph2 bootstrip within the next two weeks.

Me and my mate fixed the speakers today aswell, nice surprise to see some alpine type S behind the door cards unwired, saves me buying a new set!

Pics will be up tomorrow.

You DON'T need relays, simply change the headlamp stalk for the correct DOUBLE optic type & then the crystal lights will work correctly.

I know, but the local scrappie wants £20 for one, when a relay and a bit of wire is quite alot less. Eventually I will do it properly with the correct stalk but I'm impatient and want it done now lol

Riiiight... Another update.

Got my lights in Very Happy The mrs left her car in the way of the drive and went shopping with the her mother (Women!!) so couldnt get the car out to get a relay, so i just wired them in, no relay or stalk ect. They work fine for now, bar the low beam going off when the high beams on, so when i can be bothered ill get myself a stalk and go from there. VERY easy to do i dont see what all the fuss is about?! Could have got my Nan down here to do it!

Anyway pics

Also a pic of my new handbrake...

Finally, i got some goodies through the door in the shape of LED numberplate lights. Took the cases from the bootstrip to find this...

Errrrr! so they got cleaned...

And final product...

ALOT better.

Will get some pics of them in when its dark, pretty pointless taking pics in the daylight Razz

Also dont know wether ive mentioned but ive got some flat blade wipers on the way.

C&C?

Lol i know ive had nothing but good luck with it! (touch wood)

Ordered some new foglight bulbs yesterday as one has blown, also some sidelight bulbs.

Debating getting HID's, are they blinding for people infront on the 206? I had some on my corsa with reflector headlights and they lit up absolutely everything infront of me lol. I know theyre illegal ect but they look so good!

Get H7r's/Anti-glare HID's. I have some in mine and my mates who i have driven past/behind me said they had no problem.

Wiper blades fitted (Hella difference), LED sidelights fitted, attempted to fit LED foglights but they were too big and a massive detail with a clay bar ect.

Not been able to do much recently with the weather but im thinking up next will be smoked headlights with HIDs... and smoke the lexarse rears... After the MOT of course!

A little list of what i want in no particular order...

Smoked lights
HID's
Spray front grill (black/anthracite)
Lower (40mm-ish)
Few GTi goodies
Small Boot build
Colour code SP arches
Tidy up the trim with some matt black (wiper arms ect)
Tidy up calipers
Few subtle touches...

Me and Johnboy1989 will be having a phat cleaning sesh wednesday (weather permitting) so there will be a photoshoot after that with the SLR! Anybody local want to attend your more than welcome.

Thats all for now!

Another update.

Got a few of my GTi bits in yesterday and today with the help of Johnboy1989.

First up the interior bits...

Arty photo

Next me and John went about fitting the SP grill. I already had a stainless grill but wanting to keep up the SP theme we went ahead and changed them over.

In process...

Hi John!! Razz

After ALOT of hassle with one or two bolts we ended up with this...

We swapped the grills over and an end result of this...

Next up, as the wheels were off and there was a poor blue paintjob on the front calipers i went about painting the calipers red. Turned out rather nice!

Finally, it would be rude to leave the rear drums out of it, so they got a blast of black spray paint...

Before

and after...

Job done! Coming along nicely now, Mainly tidying up is next on the list!

Big thanks to Johnboy1989 for the help today!

Update:

Not much has happend in the last month or so. I masked the front lights with satin black that were a pain to do, but worthwhile!

Took a few night shots experimenting with my SLR...

.

Also as we speak ive just had to dish out for a new CAT & lambda sensor as it failed on emissions on the MOT. Plus side is it should run better and be a bit quieter now!

So... small update. The 206 now looks like this...

The black one failed on me, and after ALOT of cursing and abusing the french car scene... i ended up getting another one lol

SOOO a clean sheet!

2001 2.0 HDi, in Moonstone blue. No mods so far other than my CD player and Sub, LED sidelights and numberplate bulbs.

Plans? Well we'll see what happens. I have a s/s backbox with a 3" tip ready to put on, probably on the weekend. I did pick up a spoiler from the scrappy but turns out its for a 106 so that wont be going on. Other than that its the usaual PH2 bits, eventually lower it, possibly a new set of rims and a bit of colour coding here & there.

Thats all for now!

PH2 Bootstrip arrived this morning...

Obviously i wanted this on ASAP, but with it being blue something had to be done. So i got the carbon wrap out again!

Before...

and after...

Quite like the carbon look on it! ill run it like this for a while, and may end up getting it colourcoded sooner or later.

I also wrapped the little chrome bits on the grill. You cant really see it that well and hard to pick it up on my camera. Unsure on it though think they may go red.

C&C?

Yesterday i added some smoked headlights i had lying around from my old 206...

Coming along nicely now! I want to lower it 40mm(ish) but i need to sort the massive curb onto my drive first, as it scrapes on it as it is! Also i want to get the bumpers colour coded.

In the next few months im planning on a stage 1 tune to get a bit more power out of it!

Thats all for now!
