#1: Gti 140 clocks Author: rick-gti, Location: welshpool, mid walesPosted: Sat Sep 10, 2011 1:12 am ---- Took the clocks out of my gti to fix my rev counter and while opening them up the ribbon from the mileage display came away. How does this attach to the circuit board?
#2: Re: Gti 140 clocks Author: Lewis, Location: Isle Of WightPosted: Sat Sep 10, 2011 2:58 am ---- oh no...
#3: Re: Gti 140 clocks Author: meady, Location: basingstokePosted: Sat Sep 10, 2011 6:55 am ---- By the sounds of tht reply it means new clocks
#4: Re: Gti 140 clocks Author: rick-gti, Location: welshpool, mid walesPosted: Sat Sep 10, 2011 1:46 pm ---- Has anyone got a set, gt or gti clocks. Also can the milage be set so its right?
#5: Re: Gti 140 clocks Author: tomd0801754, Location: MoscowPosted: Sat Sep 10, 2011 3:54 pm ---- Multiplex or Pre-plex?
#6: Re: Gti 140 clocks Author: rick-gti, Location: welshpool, mid walesPosted: Sun Sep 11, 2011 1:07 am ---- Multiplex I think, got 2 plugs.
#7: Re: Gti 140 clocks Author: rick-gti, Location: welshpool, mid walesPosted: Sun Sep 11, 2011 4:43 am ---- Another set of clocks is no good. Im unable to get the mileage corrected. All I have to do to mine is re-attach the ribbon that goes from the screen to the circuit board.
#8: Re: Gti 140 clocks Author: tomd0801754, Location: MoscowPosted: Sun Sep 11, 2011 6:48 am ---- Why can you not swap the clocks?
#9: Re: Gti 140 clocks Author: rick-gti, Location: welshpool, mid walesPosted: Sun Sep 11, 2011 7:34 am ---- Dont really want to spend £40 on another set of clocks and the cost to get the milage corrected. I only need to refix the ribbon but not sure how its fixed, glued or soldered?
#10: Re: Gti 140 clocks Author: Lewis, Location: Isle Of WightPosted: Sun Sep 11, 2011 8:07 am ---- Well what ever way it was connected you should solder it back on! Just make sure its all wired up correctly
Cant imagine it will be easy!! Hence hwy most people usually just buy a set of new clocks if they break it!
If you get a set of clocks with lower mileage than your own they will automatically rise to your mileage

If it is multiplexed you won't have to get the clocks changed, they are stored in the BSI and will change accordingly
A search would have helped you discover that

ONLY if the mileage on the replacement clocks is LOWER
