#1: Question Regarding rear Passenger Seat Belts Author: kakaruto, Location: Mansfield NottinghamPosted: Sat Sep 10, 2011 3:49 pm ---- ok so here is the problem i am having.
I have a 2001 Y plate 206 LX it has the crappy green interior seats, the rear seats has the seatbelt built into the seat for the middle passenger.
I have taken the LX interior out and have fitted a set of GTi half leather interior but these do not have the seat belt for the middle passenger.
I am wondering what i can do to get around this as i really dont want to be buying another set of GTI half leather interior.
I presume the interior from this GTI was a very early one with a lap belt? if so does that mean i have to fit a lap belt?
Just wondering incase it comes up for MOT and i really dont want it to fail! i know i wont be having a car full of passengers so it is no big deal i am just wanting to know how i can get around this should i need to take my car in for an MOT.
thanks again
Rob

#4: Re: Question Regarding rear Passenger Seat Belts Author: kakaruto, Location: Mansfield NottinghamPosted: Sat Sep 10, 2011 4:01 pm ---- i would declare my car as a "4 " seater except what happens on the unlikely event i have to have 3 in the back... wont be good at all as i have a fairly big family and friends base!
might go about fitting a lap belt then ah buggery :/
#5: Re: Question Regarding rear Passenger Seat Belts Author: tomd0801754, Location: MoscowPosted: Sat Sep 10, 2011 4:09 pm ---- Lmao.. I have a huge friends base (and was one the only one in my friends group at uni with a car) and I never had more than 3 people in the car...
Also is your car lowered? Having all that weight in the back won't help the rear susp. parts anyway
#6: Re: Question Regarding rear Passenger Seat Belts Author: kakaruto, Location: Mansfield NottinghamPosted: Sat Sep 10, 2011 4:14 pm ---- lol yes my car is lowered how low i dont know but the rear wheel arch is covering part of my tyre LOL so its very low anyways.
might think about delcaring my car as a 4 seater to be honest... i cant be doing with 3 people in back would be a waste of fuel! and fuel economy cant be all that great either haha!

my gti half leather middle seat has a 3 point seat belt within the seat? works fine? x
your set of half leather interior would of been from a later GTi, i believe my set was from a very early GTI hence why there is no 3 point middle seatbelt, and thus meaning the middle passenger using a lap belt.
i presume your rear seats have head rests? if so then its deffo the later ones as mine do not have the head rests which makes it a very early one.
