Doesn't make good business sense to give for free anyway. (Even if they got it for free) Imagine how many man hours are used getting these codes a year, nationally and how much £££ they would lose if they didn't charge.

there's the cost of the person to input all the codes
Cost of equipment
Cost of running the equipment
Cost of the person who is working on the parts desk getting the codes
Cost of printing the card with the code on
Plus loads of other costs
