Greetings comrades

**Please vote on the poll which date is best for you, I will be calling HLM back on Monday 10th October to make a booking, and will book for the most popular date above. Please keep putting your names down, lets make it a great meet!**

This thread was originally made to set up a laser quest meet, I've decided to scratch that and instead like to set up a rolling road meet at HLM tuning in Bromsgrove. I would like for this meet to take place in October, before the winter kicks in.

Here is the place and its facilities: www.hlmtuning.co.uk/ro..._road.html

At the bottom of the page it says we can book a rolling road day for £300+VAT, going by that if we brought 10 cars it would work out at £36 each. I will be calling them soon to ask for exact prices based on how many cars we bring and if they will give a discount on remaps whilst we are there, if you want one.

We could all go out for a bit of lunch afterwards too

Firstly I would like to find out who would be interested in going, and what dates would be best for you. This isn't limited to West Midlands members, anyone can join in Smile

I would like for this to take place on one of the following dates, please pick the ones that are best for you if you reply to say you are interested:
Saturday 22nd Oct
Saturday 29th Oct
Saturday 5th Nov
Saturday 12th Nov

Members interested:
1. Andrewxps [any date] + 1 friend with car
2. Dutch-HDi
3. Atitudejim [might bring 2 cars]
4. Kingdom200 [saturdays only]
5. PugJH
6. Antix
7. Matt180
8. Mattievrs [only 29th Oct]
9. Swissy87
10. Ant206
11. ash125106
12. ramigojag
13. Lewis1304
14. Geoff (PSOOC)

Would attend Andrew but trying to sort out a Xmas meet which unfortunately is having as much interest as this. Anyway free Bumpage.

Cheers Dave, I don't necessarily need it to be laser quest and a meal, I just wanted to give it a shot. I think the reason why meets never seem to happen is people are too busy or don't want to Razz

BUMP, venue of the meet has changed, I think this may be more like 206info's cup of tea!

Here is the place, its in Bromsgrove: www.hlmtuning.co.uk/ro..._road.html

At the bottom of the page it says we can book a rolling road day for £300+VAT, going by that if we brought 10 cars it would work out at £36 each. I've sent an e-mail to ask for a quote just incase they might be able to make it cheaper depending on interest. Just for reference, USC had a rolling road that costed £40 a go.

We could all go out for a bit of lunch afterwards too

I'm planning for it to be in between October 22nd October to the first week in November because if its any later we would be hitting the bad weather that not many people would want to travel far in, so we've got 3 weeks to organise it really Smile

Glad to see its getting a bit of interest Smile I've sent a PM to all the members on the west midlands list to get the word out there

Once its got a bit more interest and I've heard back from the company I will ask everyone what sort of dates in October would be best for them

Andrew it's occurred to me that no-one actually posts in this section of the forum anymore. As a well-established member yourself, have you thought about contacting other 206info members on their Facebook pages?

A bit of proactive direct marketing might pull in the numbers.

I'm definately interested depending on dates as it would be my first 206info meet.

Hi Ant, I've sent a PM out to about 30 members. I have made Antix aware and he would also be interested, he has also advertised it on Facebook too I think.

If we get at least 10 cars on the rollers it could make it quite cheap for everyone and a great day out with a pub meal afterwards

Even of they got a price I doubt they would remap it that day it's a not a quick load on job

Most places don't check their emails so I will call them tomorrow morning and find out the pricing for a group rolling road session. I will also ask about how much a remap would cost

Dom, I am planning for this to take place on either a saturday or sunday between 22nd October to 6th November, so thats 3 weekends to pick from but that will depend entirely on which date is best for the majority of those interested

Kingdom- that's ok I asked andrew what day it is cause I don't mind having a Saturday meet then staying in a hotel til next day. Depends if they open Sunday. Could get Friday off for remap then meet everyone on sat lol.

I've just thought, they may well not be open on a Sunday so I have cut Sundays off the list until I find out for sure, Mattie I have added an extra November date as I understand not everyone is going to be available in a 3 week frame

Sounds good, on their website it says they also do saturday mornings, if HLM don't do a good enough deal I will contact them

The only trouble is if we have enough members interested it could take up more time than they will want to stay open for, and Hinckley is in the East Midlands whereas most of the members interested live locally to Bromsgrove and the immediate area

Most member interested are only interested because you picked the place close to them.

If you picked scotland, then more people from scotland would be interested Razz

RS tuning is hours away from me, but i dont mind its a day/weekend out

I have just been on the phone to HLM tuning and we have discussed what the day would include, prices and possible dates.

Because of the school holidays they would like to avoid the 22nd, I think they are going away on holiday on that date, so we have a choice of the 29th, 5th or 12th. I am opening a poll on the first page as to what date you would prefer the most.

We have been given a very generous offer of £35 per car, this includes:
- 3 power runs per each car and an average of the 3 runs will be used to create the graph data - looking on their website this usually costs £75 each so we are getting a great deal here
- Sandwiches, tea, biscuits and coffee in their waiting room
- Graph printouts plus dyno data e-mailed to us/saved onto our own cd's/flash drives. The data can be viewed on their software from the dynojet website which allows you to look at all the variables including air to fuel ratio and change all the presentation so you can analyze things against each other
- He said up to 40 cars would not cause a problem

The dyno is very young and state of the art, its Dynojet 224x LC is you want to go do your research

I did ask him about remaps, he said it would cost £300 for a remap and that he tends to decline on n/a cars as the gains can be negligable, it's only really worth it on a turbo

Its better to book it in advance to secure our slot so I will be calling him back in 2 weeks to make the booking

Cheers

Thats no problem at all Mattie, I need to stay informed of numbers though and what date is best for the majority, so if you do could you link them to this thread or pm me to keep me updated please?

Ant also has this advertised on PSOOC, the more the better Smile

On the phone the other day they said up to 30-40 cars is no problem but would take all day, if more than 20 come then it will go into the afternoon and the guy would have to employ more people to work that day

It's going to be great, 2 friends with cars are joining me too

Ok guys, the winning vote as of mid day was 29th Oct - a few others had also told me they would prefer this date as well

I have phoned HLM to book for the 29th October, we have that booking but the guy I spoken to last time doesn't seem to be in at the moment so I am expecting a call back.

I'm sending out PMs to those interested and I need a reply by Monday lunch time so I can account for whos going so I can inform HLM

Sorry, I put it on the 2nd page but forgot to put it on the original post

£35 for 3 power runs and the average is used to make your dyno graph, includes torque, hp at wheels and flywheel, and air to fuel ratio. Also includes data that can be sent to e-mail or put on a pen drive so you can look at all the measurements on their software - good if you intend to go in the future with modifications

price seems very good with regards to remapping my friend wants to know if we need to let you know in advanced or if he can decide on the day if he wants a remap, i have read about turbo'd cars only for remapping

thanks

The remaps are £300 and I think you would be alright to decide on the day

Turbo cars do get the best out of these remaps, they are pre-designed ones and they've dyno'd diesels before and after with good gains

PM me to let me know about your attendances as I need to know by Monday

Hi Andy, you are already accounted for as Antix's +1 but I'll change that and put your name down

If I'm honest people, the whole deadline thing was just to get a rough number so I could tell HLM how many of us to expect, it had to be done because people never commit to meets (probably why there has never been a west midlands meet in my entire membership before)

Anybody interested who hasn't yet had their name down is still welcome to do so Smile

I suspect it would be until 1ish, but thats going by the number of people with their name down - if people let us down by not turning up then we will be finished earlier

But! You can find my number on the first page, if you can come just text me in the morning and I'll inform them what time you intend to turn up if we have already finished we could wait a little while for you

Well if all 15-20 cars turn up it may well last until after 2, this is my first time on a rolling road I'm afraid so I don't know how long it takes to set each car up, but things always take longer than the quoted time, you should be fine Smile
