#1: Chris' China 206 GTi Author: chrisgordon7gti, Location: DurhamPosted: Wed Mar 10, 2010 12:03 pm ---- I find myself owning my 5th french car and my 2nd 206. You would have thought I would have learnt my lesson but I can't seen to keep my self away from them my past french experiences have been:
1.1 206 Gti lookalike, I know the lexarse lights are horrid but I liked them when I had the car.
1.6 8v saxo vtr
1.6 16v 106 GTi
1.6 16v saxo vts
and now my 2.0 16v 206 GTi
I was looking around local garages and found this
I love the colour and thought it is a good base to start with.
the alloys are 19' cheap n nasty and are rotten away so I am looking at replacing them as soon as possible. I will be starting work on her after my holiday at easter.
I bought some phase 2 side repeaters from Pugwiser and decided to spray my alloys black to hide the rot on my wheels until i can afford some vortex's.
I done a photoshop to visualise what she will look like lower, here it is
My future plans are
GTi 180 vortex alloys
lowered approx 50mm
phase 2 bootstrip
phase 2 washer jets
sp top grill
rear lights
airbox air filter
rear windows tinted
armrest
strut brace
fast road cams
remap
exhaust system with decat
manifold
stubby aerial
it is quite a long list but those are the plans i have for her, has anyone got any suggestions what I can do?? Last edited by chrisgordon7gti on Tue May 11, 2010 1:17 pm; edited 2 times in total

If you are looking for better wheels you could sell yours and by some nimrods, much easier on the wallet. Also why swap from a 106 GTi to a Saxo VTs, surely a sidestep, and I prefer the 106 anyway!
#3: Re: Chris' China 206 GTi Author: pug150, Location: birminghamPosted: Wed Mar 10, 2010 12:11 pm ---- nice car but sort that rear bumper out as the non sport doesnt suite it would look better with the proper gti one on!
#4: Re: Chris' China 206 GTi Author: Mattie-RS, Location: A Track near you ;)Posted: Wed Mar 10, 2010 12:12 pm ---- Aye Jamie your right with the rear bumper

rear bumper needs to be added to your plans list and o god it looks like a tractor on them 18's

#6: Re: Chris' China 206 GTi Author: mattievrs, Location: LeicesterPosted: Wed Mar 10, 2010 12:18 pm ---- nice looking car mate, it also has an sp arch missing on passenger rear too!
#7: Re: Chris' China 206 GTi Author: chrisgordon7gti, Location: DurhamPosted: Wed Mar 10, 2010 12:20 pm ---- I hate the wheels that are on at the minute, your right it does look like a tractor but Iwill be getting them changed for either nimrods or vortex's, I will sort out the rear bumper, I will keep my eyes peeled the for sale section.

#18: Re: Chris' China 206 GTi Author: chrisgordon7gti, Location: DurhamPosted: Tue May 04, 2010 11:20 am ---- Ive decided to sort the non sports rear bumper out and bought a sports bumper from howey. It hasnt came yet but will be going on as soon as it does.
I have also changed the tractor wheels and bought myself a set of just refurbed 16' nimmies that have been sprayed in a peugeot aluminium silver with a light purple tint. I won them off ebay for £185 which is alright to say they just been refurbed and all tyres are practically brand new. here they are:
shiny with just a quick wash
my next plans are to get the timing belt done and maybe lower. any comments?
#19: Re: Chris' China 206 GTi Author: 206ed, Location: southamptonPosted: Wed May 05, 2010 6:51 am ---- looks soooo much better with the nimmies ! get the wheels powder coated black would look really nice on the china blue

#24: Re: Chris' China 206 GTi Author: chrisgordon7gti, Location: DurhamPosted: Tue May 11, 2010 12:43 pm ---- I've been busy today spraying all of the bumpstrips on the gti. I will be fitting them tomorrow. When I was removing the side strips all of the clips snapped. Does anyone know ho much they are to buy from Peugeot?
And hopefully my sports bumper should be here tomorrow. Keep a look out for pics.

Yer they are the ones I need. I have looked on eBay but rather than waiting for them I will buy them from peugeot if they are cheap enough.

yer that is more than likely the reason. no doubt it is the best colour. My 106 gti was this china aswell
I like the colour of your wheels. Might change mine when I feel like a change.
#31: Re: Chris' China 206 GTi Author: chrisgordon7gti, Location: DurhamPosted: Wed May 12, 2010 4:21 am ---- Well I have just been to peugeot and they charged me £10.34 for 22 clips I think that is pretty disgusting 47p each for a tiny bit of plastic well the show must go on
#32: Re: Chris' China 206 GTi Author: CD-B3, Location: Salisbury / New ForestPosted: Wed May 12, 2010 4:25 am ---- I know what you mean, the SP metal clips are something like £2-3 each
#33: Re: Chris' China 206 GTi Author: chrisgordon7gti, Location: DurhamPosted: Thu May 13, 2010 4:38 am ---- Well I gave my car a quick wash this morning and took quite a few pictures.
I have been busy colour coding my front and side bumpstrips (ran out of paint, so couldnt do the rear) which turned out better than I thoought, I will be doing the rear next month.
I painted my brake callipers red
My sports bumper arrived so I put that straight on and looks loads better.
Any comments and suggestions welcome
thanks for looking
#34: Re: Chris' China 206 GTi Author: CD-B3, Location: Salisbury / New ForestPosted: Thu May 13, 2010 4:50 am ---- I had a go at mine a month or so back, the front bump strip came out looking matt
However I have just come into a tidy sum of money so will get the pro's to di it this time.
You've convinced me it needs doing again
#35: Re: Chris' China 206 GTi Author: chrisgordon7gti, Location: DurhamPosted: Thu May 13, 2010 4:58 am ---- nice one, what would the pro's charge for all the strips done?

Being done by a friend in the paint business so for the entire sport front bumper (covered in white stone chips), rear bumper, side strips and SP arches £100ish

Ah right, that is an alright price, I paid about £45 for the paint and new clips so £100 is good.

I spent about £60 on paper, primer, paint & lacquer.
Just on the front bumper, and the result was poor
