these are the part numbers provided by my 2 main key suppliers. The only time i ever contact them to ask which I need is when it's a 2005 model which is the change over year

I'll start it off, we can possibly do it just by members having a look at their fobs.

Year 2003 Dealer part number 6554YQ Board code 73373067C

Lee did try something similar before, but couldn't work out how the board codes related to the vehicles.

To find which fob the dealer recommends, you will have to enter your VIN on servicebox or PM me your VIN and I'll have a look and PM you the details back.
The board code is printed on the circuit board

My Daughter has a 206 1.4 four door with only one key it was registered 14th July 2001 and the key has a single button.
If I buy a second hand key can it be simply reprogrammed?

Tony

6554Y was the p/n the dealer mentioned for my 2004 'S' spec car (no AC, no front fogs) anyone know what the board number is, i've tried a 73373067C which also has an '18' printed on the battery side of the board. No luck. (unless i'm just doing it wrong of course!) I have managed to programme a spare transponder chip in to it no probs though.

Hey all, so the press the small button and hold for 10 secs, turn off, on etc will NOT work with a used ketfob then?

Are those prices for the new fob for a 2004/53 plate no front fogs correct? 60 quid cut and programmed?

I got the car with a 2 button key, but NOT the Lion button, just symboled lock/unlock small and big buttons, however the small case button is missing, just a hole, and the micro switch inside is missing itself.

Not a chance as its a big security risk.

You need the 4 digit alpha numeric security code for the car & Peugeot Planet ( or other suitable equipment that can code 206 keys)

I have a plastic Peugeot labeled credit card card with 4 digits, mix of numbers and letters. Is this what I need to code extra keys or is this for the radio code? So I have to either have to go to a Peugeot dealer, an auto locksmith or a Joe public who had Peugeot Planet in order sync an extra used or new key?

That's the security coded needed for access to key coding.

Your 206 is multiplexed, it doesn't have / need a radio code as the radio is locked to the BSI unit via the VIN number.

You need either Peugeot Planet OR other suitable diagnostic / locksmith equipment to code key's on a 206.

Key's are pretty cheap new from Peugeot BUT you will need to take your photo ID ( photo card driving licence or passport ) & proof of ownership for the car ( V5C registration document ) before they will supply you with a key / lock / security codes.

I have the Peugeot code card, so can I use that code for a used keyfob or only for new ones?

All that code does is allow access in to key coding mode in the BSI unit.

You still need Peugeot Planet OR other suitable diagnostic / locksmith equipment to actually carry out the key coding procedure. ( its easiest with Peugeot Planet )

Transponder immobiliser chips can only be coded once, you would need a new virgin transponder chip for your used key fob.

OK, so new oblong transponder chip, and the code card. I bought 2 different shaped fobs from ebay,

The original key has the silver lion on the back, with long button and small round button, but I bought 2 fobs which are rounder bodied, with a flat back, and the lion on the but rounded triangular button and plain smaller triangular button. Not compatible?

Stick a picture up of the key you have bought.
