#1: Need help with Planet... **Solved** Author: elted, Location: DublinPosted: Thu Oct 06, 2011 1:26 pm ---- Hello,
Can anyone walk me through setting up a new key in Planet?
I bought a new fob and circuit board from Hickleys for £46. Put my old transponder and blade in it, the car starts fine.
I have tried programming it as per the instructions given by Planet. No joy. (I changed the battery still no joy).
Can somebody who has done this before please take me through it step by step, as I'm pulling my hair out in handfulls.
Thanks again. Last edited by elted on Thu Oct 20, 2011 7:20 am; edited 1 time in total

#6: Re: Need help with Planet... Author: Steve206, Location: UKPosted: Thu Oct 06, 2011 2:02 pm ---- Dont you need to put the key in ignition, turn to first notch, hold down the locking button on remote for 2 mins. Done!
#7: Re: Need help with Planet... Author: Rob2859, Location: HalifaxPosted: Thu Oct 06, 2011 2:57 pm ---- I don't think so. I tried that and it didn't work.

#10: Re: Need help with Planet... Author: macca1411, Location: Westhoughton, LancashirePosted: Thu Oct 06, 2011 3:38 pm ---- Or the car won't allow you to have another remote key programmed to it.
Remember mine Lee? You tried every circuit board and still no joy.

V9977: ???
Seabrook & Rob2859: Yes trying to programme remote locking.
Steve206 & tomd0801754: tried that 100 times!
Lee: Got the one from Hickleys by vin and with fogs?
Macca1411: It is the only remote, PP is expecting 1 remote also.
Any more ideas??
#12: Re: Need help with Planet... Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Fri Oct 07, 2011 2:24 am ---- There are at least 4 types for a plexed car. So it's either the wrong board or your doing it wrong
#13: Re: Need help with Planet... Author: elted, Location: DublinPosted: Fri Oct 07, 2011 2:38 am ---- OK, thanks Lee.
I'll have to return it, as I dont think I'm doing it wrong.

There are many aspects to this key-codeing buisness.
Syncing, programming, immobiliser chip, virgin/non-virgin chip, board version, number of buttons etc.
It would be nice to have a definitive guide (incl. Peugeot Planet instructions) which people could reffer to.
'Just saying.

True, so all the more reason to get the info properly laid-out regarding keys I think.

#19: Re: Need help with Planet... Author: elted, Location: DublinPosted: Fri Oct 07, 2011 12:39 pm ---- Interesting development...
In actuator test (in Planet) there is no response from either "Identified Transmission" OR "Non Identified transmission"
Could the reciever be faulty? How could I test it?
and most importantly - where the hell is it?

yes it's new and yes it's the only one, when you say new com2000 do you mean New new or can it be used?
The test for the com2000 is coming back as "No faults found" Last edited by elted on Fri Oct 07, 2011 1:03 pm; edited 1 time in total

#24: Re: Need help with Planet... Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Fri Oct 07, 2011 1:04 pm ---- Transmitter is inside the come, so if the key works and you've programmed it, it should pick up the signal.
But if its even not picking up a unID'd one, then sounds like the receiver is faulty.
Try a replacement com
#25: Re: Need help with Planet... Author: elted, Location: DublinPosted: Thu Oct 20, 2011 3:14 am ---- OK guys, sorted my own problem, so thought I'd share in case some one else has similar problem.
Didn't have remote key, only basic (valet) one. So because there are so many variations, I bought a new fob with circuit board (Hickley's £46). Tried everything to programme it, I used the old transponder from the valet key, so car started. I went through the learning process on planet(x100), no joy.
So I put the new transponder in the fob, selected 2 keys in Planet programming, programmed the old key and transponder as key one. and the new key fob and transponder as key two. And Bingo, the remote works.
So after about 5 weeks, 3 different fobs, nearly pulled out Com2000, actually pulled out lots of my hair, I can finally walk away from my car, and press the button to lock. What luxury.
Thanks for all attempts to help.
Regards.
