#1: GazRG's WIP Author: GazRG, Location: Bournemouth/CardiffPosted: Sun Feb 07, 2010 9:50 pm ---- Bought my car on the 1st of March 2008 with 16k miles on, a genuine low miler, great condition car.
I've tried to modify it subtly to reflect its position in the range, as a luxury model, and do OEM-style mods rather than chavvy tacky ones.
I got a replacement rear door off eBay for £40 delivered after noticing what I thought was a small scratch was actually a serious amount of damage including cracked filler.
Rather fast got phase 2 rear lights.
Modded the door mirrors to operate on remote lock/unlock.
Yellow calipers (since been replaced by gold GTi calipers)
SP fuel cap (personally think it really suits KSJ)
Red LED high brake light (rare, smooth OEM look)
On the way back from the Buxton meet with Sam, car looking rather muddy! This was pre-sports rear bumper, new alloys or colour coding.
Next to Scott (SAB206)'s old car.
Interior rear lights relayed off fronts were added, with Sam's help, on either C-pillar (bit of a scary task, cutting through rare black rear pillars )
Updated the air vent sliders, and all four door handles to silver, off the later models. Brilliant update, looks much smarter, very little money or effort.
Fitted an SP grill with Gareth's help (Pug206lx). Previously had fitted a Laguna splitter and SP bonnet vent that you can also see.
Shortly after, I treated my car to a sports rear bumper, phase two boot strip, and full colour coding all round to smarten it up a bit. I put the Peugeot Lion on above the bootstrip after these pictures.
Fitted an auto dim mirror.
Then fitted a set of SP arches, these are pre-wheel change.
Some photos before the wheel change as it stood.
I then got a set of GTi Nimrods refurbished and sprayed a custom specified, subtle dark grey.
As it stood, also changed side indicators to official clear Peugeot ones. Also upgraded to 4x H7 Osram Nightbreakers around this time. They are immensely powerful and very good, I'd recommend them.
Couple of photos from a meet with ChinablueGTI (Gavin).
Also fitted metal Lockwood door sills, subtle white footwell lighting linked to the doors, removed and sold headlamp protectors, and have since fitted a full JBL upgrade (excluding sub and amp). This comprises of all four door speakers, plus the two JBL tweeters and the official monogrammed JBL door tweeter covers.
Upgraded brake setup to GTi 138 spec, Hammerited gold.
Boring side of things wise, I have done (and now can proficiently perform) an oil and filter change, changing of the ECU engine sensor (green plug), the dashboard temperature sender (blue plug on side of cylinder head), coolant flush/renewal/bleeding, etc.
Also wired in a second cigarette lighter, situated in the glovebox. Perfect for charging your phone or running an iPod on a long journey, as well as adding a silver handbrake button, finally.
Fitted a reversing sensor kit off eBay, wired in subtly, buzzer hidden away in boot, and colour coded.
Also sprayed my centre console KSJ, and the clock and gearlever surrounds in cream - apologies for poor quality photo.
I have a spoiler waiting for me but am still undecided on whether it's worth putting on or not (will it suit the car?)
I've probably forgotten a whole load of stuff that I've done though!
Plans for the future include lowering, a new subtle exhaust, and perhaps lightly tinted rear door windows and rear windscreen. I am also going to relay the fogs and full beams so that, whilst also working independently as they do currently, the fog lights will illuminate upon full beam activation, much like driving lights.

Parking sensor is awesome, I'd recommend it for the money. Easy as pie to wire up and fit, even if you're not technically minded.

#10: Re: GazRG's WIP Author: GazRG, Location: Bournemouth/CardiffPosted: Tue Mar 02, 2010 2:57 pm ---- Just a small update, I had white footwell neons linked to the interior light so that they'd illuminate open opening of the doors/unlocking the car, however three out of four have blown due to wear and tear/being knocked by passengers' feet.
When I get back home, will try and get hold of four boot lights and do an OEM-style footwell light installation using the wiring that's been set in place.
I've also got a spare parking sensor or two so kind of tempted to put two in my front bumper as they are spare, could be a good OEM+ style mod, linked to a switch.
Finally, this summer I WILL sort out my headlight washers! Got hold of two off a Lexus and they need some modding to fit - all part of the fun!
Thoughts on either would be appreciated.

vintageoriginal - no, the sensors are actually very good, nice and accurate and not annoying. Not as good as OEM (they only have 3-4 preset levels) but for £18, what do you expect? Lol!
RustyDLK - it's planned, once I'm back in the UK!
Kencoboy - thanks mate, I've tried to keep it fairly subtle.
And to let everyone know, there's a few nice little mods I've thought of whilst I've been away - watch this space once I'm back.
