Im putting foot down and nuffin relli happens consid its a 2.0 turbo.

what you gotta remember is, ya may think its fast because its a '2.0 litre turbo' , but its a 90bhp diesel engine which is v. slow in my opinion.

my 1.2 corsa i had was probably about same 0-60 as 2.0hdi

maybe your just expecting a bit much??

edit -- you said it loses power after 3k revs too, i have found with diesels they lose power in higher rev range ( i think its because diesel wont burn fast enough or something lol)

You aren't driving it right then Wink

wrong! after 3k revs it should increase in power as thats where the turbo is at peak boost, it should then start to die off at about 5k revs

peak torque for stock 2.0HDi is @2000rpm, next to no power after 3500rpm.

peak boost 1bar @2K rpm; unless you are running K04 in which peak torque will shift up to around 3500rpm Laughing and massive amount of turbo lag Twisted Evil

i'm 90% certain after 3k revs it dies on power, i could be wrong though, i drove a 1.6 ds3 diesel an 1.9audi a3 diesel and they both lost power higher in the rev range

seabook seems to know what hes talking about though

Have you tried giving it a service, new filters, oil, etc?

If its way overdue a service that can make it seem like it has a "cold".

Diesels especially need nice fresh oil as they tend to contaminate it faster then petrol engines.

Driving a derv is a diffrent experience totally than its pertol counterpart.
Fair enough you have a more limited rev range when driving hard id keep the revs between 2k and upto around 3.5k will keep the engine more happy than taking it to the red line at 5k Shocked Just dont rev em that hard FFS the power dies off b4 that anyways, torque is what a dervs about and if you think its down on power a good service as mentioned and a good remap will soon sort it out Thumb Up

Get on the motorway at 70and drop it into 3rd gear. Watch all the s**t pour out the exhaust.

If that doesn't cure it, get the injectors checked and make sure you don't have a leak in the fuel lines which is sucking in air.
