#1: Replacing oil sump gasket 206 xr 2000 Author: X30N, Location: AustraliaPosted: Sat Nov 19, 2011 4:21 am ---- Hi everyone,
Could anyone kindly explain me how to take the oil sump out in a Peugeot 206 xr 2000 model? Or at least point me in the right direction?
The reason Im asking is because I would like to replace the sump gasket. I thought it would be a quick and easy job requiring only to drain the oil and undo a few bolts but it appears more complex than that. My sump seems to be stuck by a part from the aircon compressor which makes it impossible to pull it out fully. It looks like the only way I could remove it is by taking the auxliary belt off and then the compressor...
Has anyone ever had to do such job?
Thanks in advance all for your help!
Regards
X30N

That external belt is not the timing belt, it's your auxiliary belt driving
alternator, air-con, power steering pump etc.
Are you sure you're looking at the oil sump?

Yes Im looking at the oil sump. I have just drained the oil from it, removed all the bolts and managed to pull it out a few mm removing parts of the old gasket (which seems to be a liquid gasket). However the sump doesnt come out any further as a component from the compressor is blocking it.
The component is on the top left side of the compressor in the following picture:
It seems to stick out about 5mm under front right hand side (towards right hand wheel) of the sump and makes it impossible to pull it down. Last edited by X30N on Sat Nov 19, 2011 5:39 am; edited 1 time in total

Can't see the pic.
You might want to do a PrtScn screenshot grab or something.

"On 2.0 litre models with A/C... remove drive belt
Unbolt compressor and support weight or tie it to the vehicle
to prevent any excess strain on the compressor lines..."

Air conditioning pump has been removed. Just undo the lower bolts on the compressor.
