#1: "whining/ howling timing belt" Author: DavidPCoates, Location: UKPosted: Mon Nov 21, 2011 7:35 am ---- I have revently changed the head gasket, also changing the aux belt and the timing belt.
However I didnt change the timing belt tensioner, where first started I had a loud "howling", i removed aux belt, the noise remained, then removed covers and again noise remained, therefore I guess the problem is either timing belt or tensioner.
Anyone have similar expereince, I loosened the belt a little and the problem reduced, but didnt go away.
Thanks
Dave

No Didnt change water pump, what belt drives that?

These are only guesses obviously as i cant see or hear the car.
