#1: running water sound from passenger side Author: QuArTz, Location: South CoastPosted: Fri Nov 25, 2011 5:41 am ---- Over the last month or so I have been hearing an 'running water' sound from the passengers side.
It mainly happens when the car is idle and I rev the engine.
It sound like bubbling, running water and its always from the passengers side.
Any ideas would be greatly appriciated.
Thanks

#4: Re: running water sound from passenger side Author: QuArTz, Location: South CoastPosted: Fri Nov 25, 2011 7:13 am ---- Ive just had a look at the expantion bottle and it was bone dry, now ive topped it up to the 'MAX' level and took the car for a spin, the fan came on, on two occations and the water level hasnt dropped, the temp guage hasnt moved much above 90'c
The sloshing water sound was still there when I accelarated while the stationary, although as before the sound went away once the car had warmed up.
Ive had a look at the previous posts on this topic but havent seen any solutions to this problem.

So be interesting to find out what happens. Lee mentioned air in the matrix once but I've had no temp issues. It stays at 93 happily and raises to 95 ish when trashing but never more.

People like me? Do I have a post count? Do I care?
The question is asked over and over again, if nobody has answered it or solved it then what is gonna change from yesterday to today?
Did you not just "notch up your post count" yourself, by posting a load of abusive kid crap?

In the OP's defence, this link doesn't provide a conclusive solution to the problem
I didn't say it did, it's purely for refrence/ ideas.

The heater matrix would be only if you had water in the footwell.

could also take to a garage and they can check the expansion bottle for exhaust gasses which will tell you if the headgasket has gone. might also be worth bleeding the coolant system.
have had this with both 306 gti6's i have had and never had a problem. i just drained and re-filled the coolant.
