Swapping reasons? Trouble with yours? Want a more powerful one?
I think that engine is pretty good, I believe they even do throttle body kits for it if you want power Laughing

Just want more power to be honest mate. Everyone says buy a different car. But I love the car u got. And my mate got an escort gti. And he's dropping a 2 litre in there. So I wanted something about that size not for him to show me up lol.

Its probably cheaper and easier to buy a car with a bigger engine, like a Gti.

Failing that buy Kersh's engine lol

If you don't want to modify and just want a standard engine then you could use the 180 one, but tbh the xsi is nice you might as well put the money into modifying it there are a lot of options and parts avaliable.

That's pretty good value. Plus if your 1.6 is quicker than his 2.0 you'll be laughing Smile

Bear in mind insurance, an engine swap may be cheaper but insurance will most likely be higher than fitting throttle bodies.

Thanks everyone. What kinda bho increase would I expect off the throttle bodies? And any one know if the gti 180 engine would fit mine. Would there be alot to change?

I think its fair. What could you do with £1500? Maybe a holiday to America or something thats going to be once and once only or spend the 1500 on throttle bodies and the ECU, and having something you can enjoy everyday until you get bored/sell/change cars? I know which one id choose! Laughing

Someone can clarify, but these could work too? Might go cheap.

A gti 180 will not fit easily it is a big job as everything is different.

A gti will fit with a lot less work

That's decent, money well spent there!! I nearly did it to my C2 VTS

Just for a performance exhaust and cams for a F4R your looking at same price!

Thanks. An what do you mean by head work? Not that clever on all this. But any chance anyone could write down a few things I can change to my engine to increase performance. As all this would be done over time like. Thanks everyone. Dan

1500 + ecu + setting up + px 1.6 = better than throttle bodies.
