I think that engine is pretty good, I believe they even do throttle body kits for it if you want power

That's pretty good value. Plus if your 1.6 is quicker than his 2.0 you'll be laughing
Bear in mind insurance, an engine swap may be cheaper but insurance will most likely be higher than fitting throttle bodies.

I think its fair. What could you do with £1500? Maybe a holiday to America or something thats going to be once and once only or spend the 1500 on throttle bodies and the ECU, and having something you can enjoy everyday until you get bored/sell/change cars? I know which one id choose!

A gti will fit with a lot less work

Just for a performance exhaust and cams for a F4R your looking at same price!
