#1: Getting at the inside of rear quarter panel Author: Andrew, Location: Black Country Ay IPosted: Tue Dec 06, 2011 11:17 am ---- Some idiot dented my car yesterday, watched them do it and the guy was was a pr*ck basically. This is the 4th dent someone else has done to my car in 6 months now and I can't afford to keep paying the PDR guy every time some mindless ar**hole goes near my car, so I'm thinking of giving this one a go myself as it is only a shallow one.
However, its on the rear quarter panel and you can't get at it from the rear wheel arch, and its a 3 door so I can't put a wedge under the rear window.
If I take off the plastic panel from the interior, would it give me access to the inside surface of the rear quarter panel? If so, how do I take it off?
Either way, the lesson of the story is to never go to a shopping centre in december

#3: Re: Getting at the inside of rear quarter panel Author: Seabook, Posted: Tue Dec 06, 2011 11:29 am ---- yes you can.
pop off the door card then it's all clear
#4: Re: Getting at the inside of rear quarter panel Author: Andrew, Location: Black Country Ay IPosted: Tue Dec 06, 2011 11:53 am ---- Thanks for replies, where are the clips located? I'm worried of damaging anything so I'd like to know if there's a correct way of getting it off
#5: Re: Getting at the inside of rear quarter panel Author: Seabook, Posted: Tue Dec 06, 2011 12:11 pm ---- no idea, i remember there is a few torx screw, undo them and then you can just pull out the rear door card
#6: Re: Getting at the inside of rear quarter panel Author: craigy00craig, Location: surreyPosted: Tue Dec 06, 2011 1:13 pm ---- Yer just give it a yank it will be fine at worst a couple of clips might break but you can get them from peugeot for about 12p each i think
#7: Re: Getting at the inside of rear quarter panel Author: Andrew, Location: Black Country Ay IPosted: Tue Dec 06, 2011 3:32 pm ---- Are they those wedge shaped clips? I have plenty of those
#8: Re: Getting at the inside of rear quarter panel Author: Lecktorious, Location: ScotlandPosted: Wed Dec 07, 2011 7:58 am ---- Andrew, if you seen the guy doing it why didn't you confront him? Or if you didn't want to, video it and report it to the Police?
I'd be tempted to leave it to the PDR's, you might end up making it worse.
#9: Re: Getting at the inside of rear quarter panel Author: Andrew, Location: Black Country Ay IPosted: Wed Dec 07, 2011 4:03 pm ---- Hi G, I had a right go at them, I told him even though its just a 206 I have spent a lot of time and money keeping it pristine condition for the shows and his carelessness has set me back. I gave him a choice of paying me £50 for the PDR right there and then, or I would take matters to my own hands. He said "I don't care, do what you have to do".
He was parked over the lines on my side as well, so I taken pictures of that as the car park it happened on gives £75 fines for it. I went to the police station and filled in a form, they didn't look at the pictures and they said if they visit him and he denies doing it there's nothing that can be done.
It was a Range Rover less than 5 years old, and a very expensive reg plate.

I wasn't expecting the Police to get my money back, I just would have thought that the Police getting in touch might have made him think about his behaviour.

Next time, boot his door / wing / quarter in while he is there watching you. He'll wish he had opted for the cheaper alternative which would be 50 quid your way.

Bit of a pansy thing to do attacking a car IMHO, better to have it out with the person man to man instead of picking a fight with a lump of metal that cant fight back.
#15: Re: Getting at the inside of rear quarter panel Author: Andrew, Location: Black Country Ay IPosted: Wed Dec 07, 2011 5:31 pm ---- What happened has happened. Any further advice on getting my plastic interior card off would be great from here thanks.
