There is no light on the dash, it's only on the new MFD. I wonder what the beep is if it isn't the ABS. Is there any way of getting it stopped, maybe a system reset or something?

Does your car actually have ABS fitted?

Thread Hi-jack: So is a PPT-40 a double line display because mines a PPT-40 and it only has a single line? Whats the part number for a double line display and can it be fitted to a 2003 1.4 GLX?

PPT-40 is just the connector for a multiplexed MFD

So I take it that there isn't a double line display that'll fit my car then?

You need a PPT 40 - 3 line display, got one in my 03 plate GLX.

My display says PPT-40 on it but Lee says thats just for the connector, so there must be a 2 line display that'll fit then. Ebay here I come.

That is correct, PPT 40 is just the connector plug.

My original single line display had PPT 40 on it, my replacement 3 line display also had PPT 40 on it Laughing

Thanks Mr BSI, Ive found one on eBay and messaged the seller to see if it has PPT40 on it. I read somewhere you need a button on a stalk to change the display, my wiper has a button that sets the lights and wipers to auto but will it change the display?

Not unless the original com has been changed.

Will be << on the end of the wiper stalk for trip computer, you can on some com units remove the end of the wiper stalk & you should find the little switch is hidden inside, you then just have to get another com end with the push button fitted.

The original COM was replaced earlier this year but I think the new one has << on the wiper end, Ill check tomorrow. I think getting a 3 line display could be a non starter though, sounds like its getting too complicated.

Thanks again.

Display just plugs straight in & works.

If you want the trip computer features working to, thats when you need the extra button on wiper stalk.

03 plate 1.4 lx, i must only have the single line display, however im positive there is a button already on my wiper stalk so hopefully it should be pretty straightforward if i decide to change it but before i do can somebody that has a 2 or 3 line display stick a pic up for me to see if i think its worthwhile, be greatly appreciated cheers.

I am not sure if mine has ABS fitted but I'm sort of sure it does, how can I check?

I have taken the push button of the auto lights stalk and put it on the other one for the wipers so now can change the display to show whatever I want, and I put the non push one on the light stalk. I then reset the whole thing by holding in the button on the wiper stalk for 3 seconds. Since then, I have not had the beep for the ABS fault and my lights and central locking have been working perfectly since. Typical, I also ordered the newCom Unit but may not even need it! Might as well fit it anyway!
