Hi guys its been a while but i changed a gearbox on a 2003 1.6 petrol citroen picasso (not a 206 i know) and all was well driven 25mile or so stopped and started back up fine... got home and then tried to start it again and it wont start, ive checked battery its fine when trying to start it the starter clicks but wont engage onto the flywheel any ideas or solutions would be greatly appreciated thanks, Mark

Have you fitted the gearbox right?

Manual or Auto?

Yeah mate all plugs are in and bolts tight and its a manual mate.

have you fitted a new clutch kit or you used the old ones??

How did you check the battery?
It might be worth giving the connections a little clean and re-tightening them. If it still clicks after that, try jump starting.

If you're feeling brave in this weather, lie under the car and tap the starter gently with a hammer while someone turns the key. This will determine if it's a dicky starter motor or not. If this works, then whip off the starter and get a recon unit from an auto factors.

sounds like the solinoid on the starter has given up ( common on most cars) take that starter off, and start the car and see if the cog slides up the shaft.

Its a new clutch kit, tried tapping it with a hammer still nothing and the battery and terminals are like new. Il get it off and try start it guys cheers

It was the starter motor shooting out but not spinning thanks guys
