#1: Get Fault codes read? 206 Auto Author: jaypug206, Location: LondonPosted: Mon Jan 02, 2012 7:00 pm ---- Does anyone read Diagnostic/Fault codes in London or Surrey?
As I have a 206 auto and the snow and sports button keep flashing not all the time, sometimes and the car goes in limp mode.

How much have you paid for a auto oil change? Also if it wasn't needed how much did you pay to check?
If I do not take it to Peugeot will it matter that I won't be able to get the oil wear sensor reset? As I do not want the flashing snow and sport buttons or for the car to go in limp mode.

I can't say as I've always changed the oil myself

It's easy to check so I haven't paid anyone else to do it

I doubt if it is the oil change warning as you have to do a heck of a lot of duty cycles before it triggers. Anyone with Peugeot Planet and most garages can reset the oil change interval

#13: Re: Get Fault codes read? 206 Auto Author: Deckchair5, Location: Bath UKPosted: Fri Jan 06, 2012 10:49 am ---- Well there's a heck of a lot of oil remaining in the system if you just drain the old oil out so if you want to be thorough then the best way is to drain and then refill and run the system a little while and then drain that out and refill again. You can never completely get the old stuff out but you can make a good job by draining it twice.
Of course, this means using twice the amount of oil but its not that expensive. Personally i find the smaller 1litre containers easier to handle in the engine bay than say one large one
But if you're not sure what you're doing then it's best to leave to a garage to do as you must be careful not to overfill
First task is simply check whether it needs oil. If it does then look for any leaks around the driveshafts where they enter the auto box, they leave a tell tale oil trail running underneath the car

I use Comma AQM transmission fluid. A 5litres can is around £21 but you're better to fill and use a 1 litre can for access to refill
