I'll get the obligatory out of the way. T-cut it out

Unlucky. Looks like it could be a pig to get the shape back. Shame you weren't parked a couple of feet further back, at least then it would only have been your excess payable for a new windscreen

Two things...should never park your car so close to the house in weather like this. Secondly, you should maintain your house.

Common sense not to park so close to the house when the whole country has had weather warnings. One ridge takes about 5 minutes to point up, if that.

the house is owned by a housing association. the car was on the drive 1 1/2 meters away from the house. the car has to be on the drive as its insured to be there at night. if i moved it to the street and some thing happened,,,, then what?

these things happen, i have no choice but to use my narrow drive (leave it on the street and it gets scraped, mirrors knocked off with passing cars, bin truck can't pass etc) and it happened a few years ago, luckily when we were out.

there's debris all over the place here - only safe place is in a garage.

ours was pointed well but whoever did the roof before we moved in left a tiny overhang which meant the wind got under it and took it off.

are you going to go through the house insurance or will they not cover it?

will have to be the car insurance! house won't cover it!! i am trying to lay the blame at the feet of the housing company though! as we had to have part of the roof fixed last year when the side cement from the brick to the tiles blew out!

I would claim through the housing association. If it's rented then they are responsible for repairs and upkeep both inside and out unless your rental agreement says otherwise.
More than likely if you claim through your insurance and give the Housing Association name and address they will pursue them to recover any costs. Problem that way is you will have to pay your excess. Ring the Housing Association and see what they say. They will probably send you a claim form as they will claim from their property insurance.

Shame the damage is easily fixable.

Best thing for a FAPTASTIC 206 is for it to be written off.
