code readers wont communicate with my car!

the engine light has come on the other day for no obvious reason, the car runs fine just like it normaly does.

iv just tried using 3 different code readers and all 3 wont communicate with the car these are the readers i just tried

the other one i cant remember the name of lol

can someone shed some light on this for me and advise me on a code reader that the car will talk to.

as far as i can tell the port is fine no damage to any of the pins.
its baffled me to why it wont talk to any of the readers Confused

Check +12v and earth
k-line if you are non-plexed
can high and can low if you are plexed

the 12v and earth i think are fine because when i plugged the readers in they all lit up Smile
what the k-line? and how would i check it?

You more than likely won't be EOBD
