left indicator stuck on

Its not stuck on consistently, just flashing and wont turn off, and always at the worst times like when im on the motorway!
If i lift the stalk slightly it turns off but too far and the right one goes on, so i dont think its that.
Thought it might be a bit of moisture but after it happening for 3 days now id say that shoulda evapourated.
Anyone got any ideas?
Cheers

Yer yours will be Preplex straight forward stalk replacement.

Think there might be a howto on here how to replace tho it's an easy job, (I'm in phone with poor signal ATM else would try look for it)

With preplex if its not too bad it could even be sorted for free. Just pull the stalk out and then pull it apart and clean up all the metal contacts inside.

I had to do that. The contacts inside wear and metal shavings short out the switch.

Hi, fixed this problem in 15mins on 2 occasions (preplex separate cars) remove steering wheel cowl. 2x screws from underside. remove indicator stalk 2x torx screws. disconnect wirering 2x connectors (you cant mix them up they are different sizes)
you will see the toggle switch sticking out of the end. (it may feel loose and not in the center. it was on both cars i did) Spray with WD40 (don't be shy, put plenty on) move the toggle about with your fingers and operate the indicators a few times.
you will find it springs into the center and flicks back into the middle rather than slopping back (s**t description of operation but i know what i an trying to say. lol)
Fit back on car and you should be OK.
If it works i don't want any credit. Lee told me how to do it.
