#1: Hdi vibration rattle Author: Fifer, Location: FifePosted: Tue Jan 31, 2012 1:56 pm ---- Hi again all
My hdi engine vibrates at idle with the metal pipe (aircon ?) at the front top shaking about, is this normal?
Also the car seems to have a rattle/noise at low revs that disappears as the revs build usually about 2300 to 3000 rpm and goes silent (well as much as a diesel can). It doesn't seem to be coming from the pulley are though. Again is this normal or does anybody have any ideas I can check.
In the meantime it's axle bearing change time this weekend.

#3: Re: Hdi vibration rattle Author: Fifer, Location: FifePosted: Sun Feb 05, 2012 12:20 pm ---- Thanks. Doesn't seem to be the pulley and after searching all threads it may be an injector. I'm running bg 244k through it at the moment.
For the future as I may change the pulley anyway, is it the timing crank pulley ( that the timing belt runs off) or is it the accessory pulley.

on my 1.4hdi i had a rumble at tickover and it was the alternator pulley (belt tensioner was bouncing).
