Sold it with the plate yes, went to an enthusiast in Liverpool, it was a well liked car on the forums. It was only up for sale for 2 hours haha. Had it just over 2 years. I miss it everyday mate, that was my 3rd one. Im 27 now and had a mortgage for 6 years. I got fed up spending so much money on cars so dropped back down to the hot hatches. With the way fuel is now i hate to think how much id be spending. Scoobies are worse than women when it comes to bleeding you for cash! Eat tyres and brake pads, servicing and maintenance lol

Maybe gold instead of yellow?

Not a fan of gold Howey. I rid my scoobies of all things gold! After the photoshops though its either yellow or a violet/hot pink. I know most will shake there heads but im trying to think outside the box without going silly.

Will be starting the project next week now the house is almost finished. Decided not to go with yellow highlights. Want to keep the car looking OEM so just going to gloss the front grill, bonnet vent and eiper cover, then look to add a cupra splitter aongside a caliper refurb possibly in gold. Future things will be a subtle drop, cat-back system but not sure which one yet and think i will refurb the wheels in a real deep glossy anthracite/grey. Watch this space.... I know project threads without pics suck but will deffo have progress pics next week if the weather stays nice!....

Well my first real modification to the car wasnt one i had planned to do just yet. My backbox had snapped where it meets the downpipe. Cheepest replacement i could find was £175 for a standard backbox. In the end i went to MIJ in Walsall and had a stainless system made up and fitted for the same price £175. Work done looks to a good standard, i went for a mid-sport setup with a twin 3" slash exit like the janspeed. It was pretty loud under revs driving home. They have assured me it will settle down as it beds in and from previous experience with other cars this tends to be the case. Just dont want that drone when on the Motorway. Also spotted that the car is leaking oil from somewhere above the oil filter so that will be investigated on friday. Heres a few pics anway.

The oil leak will be from the oil filter housing they have a ruber o ring inside them that perishes over time, Nice 180 and in the best colour Very Happy .

Thanks Andy, im hoping so. The guy who fitted it thinks its dripping down from above the oil filter, does that sound like the O ring rubber?

Is that a white Lambo on the ramp next to yours? And how come no Janspeed?

Yes Narc its a lambo. Guy who owned it was a bit of a c**k though. He was like 5ft tall but was giving it jonny big balls all afternoon! No Janspeed as plain as day i didnt have the spare cash. Its booked in Fri to have oil leak investigated and then its going back to MIJ Mon to have the exhaust note toned down a tad.

So the car went back down to MIJ today after a chat with Andrew last week. They removed the system they had fitted completely and re-built it to a more refined spec as requested. They also did this free of charge which in all honesty i was expecting, but its nice not having to kick off to get it.

So now the ssytem mirrors that of the original system IE- downpipe and tail pipe exit from the same side and the backbox sits how the OEM does. Soundwise it is much much better, no rasps or drones with just the hint of grunt after 3k revs. Will get some pics up Wed when i do a few other little jobs on her. Smile
