#1: burning smell Author: scotty79, Location: ayrshirePosted: Fri Feb 03, 2012 8:58 am ---- this mornin when i got to work there was a funny burning smell coming from the exhaust and my car at the moment sounds like an impreza, could this be the cat needing cleaned or replaced or could it be something else?

But you say the car sounds like an impreza, this is normally a sign of a misfire.
Does it actually sound like an impreza as in it burbles like a boxer engine would?

to me it just sounds like the exhaust that's on an impreza, I know it's not much help lol but to me that's just what it sounds like

also should i be driving around in this or should it be parked up till the coil pack comes through?
