other then the obvious tools you need like a heat gun ect ....... i advise to deffinetly use a tailers chalk pencil it turned out to be the best thing since sliced bread when it came to marking and cutting the edges
#15: Re: My 1.4 206 project Author: BioCustoms, Location: LeedsPosted: Wed Feb 22, 2012 12:38 pm ---- just a little update iv just bought a big evo front grill to replace the genuine one, i knew it wouldnt fit the sports kit or the genuine sports wings because it was made to fit the big evo wide arch kit, but im a body man n have alot of experience with fibreglass so im gonna get this ......
to fit as if it was genuine. to do this im gonna get rid of the corner edge that extends the length of the grill and make it fully flushed and the peice that extends under the lights needs making smaller so thats that
and heres a full pick of the car so far in the day time a little more visible

#22: Re: My 1.4 206 project (More carbon wrapping) Author: BioCustoms, Location: LeedsPosted: Wed Mar 07, 2012 3:11 pm ---- been a couple of weeks now so time for an update, my last update the car looked like this
i was looking for a buyer for the wings bumpers n lights but nobody was intrested dew to it all being phase 1 but i sold it as a bulk buy on ebay for £75 better then a kick in the niki naki noos
iv de-wipered the rear and fitted a phase 2 handle i think it makes it really smart but the handle needs respraying
iv been doing alot of spending lately, i got my hands on two wings cheap the off side has a couple of dints but nothing to worry about easy fix
but the near side is mint obviously both need spraying
i also bought a front sports bumper grill and fogs for a monster £35 has a little crack on the bottom but again its an easy fix im still waiting on the post for that....
i bought some rear lights and some halos but the rears fit was crap so iv sent them back so im gonna stick with phase 2 rears instead. but the halos are sweet.
i got a rear bumper off a 180 pretty good condition other then one of the flappy bumper supports under it had broken off, il have to fabricate something or plastic weld one on.

#30: Re: My 1.4 206 project Author: BioCustoms, Location: LeedsPosted: Sun Mar 18, 2012 5:12 pm ---- update time, today iv repaired the wings and they look sweet iv highbuild primed both wings fully but i dont have a pic il post one up tomorrow .
iv also highbuild primed the door trims they need flating but will soon be ready for colouring.
the damage on the tailgate handle primed ready for color.
iv mainly focused on the glove box cover today.
I took off the glove box door and pulled off the cover then stripped the fabric off, sanded it all down plastic primed then highbuild primed it.
flatted it with 400 wet n dry and cut some wrap
I flipped the peice over and replaced the velvet fabric in the card slot with carbon wrap also.
looks like this once all together.
Iv wraped the cover and it was one of the most hardest parts i have wrapped not because of the shape it was because it was sticking to primer and for some reason it sticks like s**t to a blanket and if you put it on wrong then its tricky to peal back off.
Iv re-attached the cover to the main glovebox with 2part epoxy and held it all on with clamps should be all good n dry tomorrow.

#36: Re: My 1.4 206 project Author: BioCustoms, Location: LeedsPosted: Sun Apr 01, 2012 4:52 pm ---- Been crazy busy over the last two days received my sports bumper for free because the mail people messed up lol so im happy the sports grill is for sale check the sales thread
has a nasty crack in the bottom but an easy repair with epoxy
just needs a really good 80 gritting a filling and a sanding good for priming
Moving on to the rear bumper iv cut out a second exhaust hole not to everyones taste but what the hell i like the idea iv got a second 180 trim to smarten it all up.
installed some phase 2 rears n they look and fit sweet
iv also upgraded the speakers,im going to have a full pioneer set up through out the car each speaker pumps 300w so they hit hard n sound crisp.
Iv done alot more over the weekend but havent got the pics at the moment so il go through the rest when i have the pics to add a little anticipation

Full sp kit primed and flatted nothing too exciting but slowly getting there
but i managed to squeez in a little dial re-vamp tell use what you think super gloss.....
as you can see the 50p reflection looks awsome when put together

#42: Re: 1.4 lx few new pics and glossed dials Author: BioCustoms, Location: LeedsPosted: Fri Apr 13, 2012 3:48 pm ---- update time got quiet abit done tonight, i swaped my sp grille for a honeycombe grille and they look so much better then the metal grille just looks cheap and s***ty, and iv decided to go for the glossed black grille with red pin stripe trims its gonna look sweet when its in the bumper scotching this honey grille took the piiisssss lol......
iv also dyed my roof liner took a while but iv done it the pro way didnt use spray paint causing it to go hard and neither did i use vinyl spray its 100% soft and it dryes to an even covering.
the door trims and the front sp bumper also got painted, my plans are to base coat all the parts in ezr then do a full respray on the car at the garage to blend every thing in to the doors and quarter panels to get a perfect color match
as you can see its a perfect finish probably wouldnt need to buff it shame its only the base lol
tomorrow im going to be painting the wings and installing the halos so stay tuned .......

center console gloss painted
il be giving a real update tomorrow since im gonna be doing something nobody has done as far as i can see anyways .... including these little beauties .. where are they going to fit i hear you say ????
iv lazer cut some metal rings to trim off the speakers n there going red should really set them off
#59: Re: 1.4 lx (FRONT END SPORTS CONVERSION AND HALOS) Author: BioCustoms, Location: LeedsPosted: Fri Apr 27, 2012 4:03 pm ---- right, the update im really looking forward to hearing your comments on this ....
i purchesed these 4" pioneers and they sound great hitting 180w each
started up by knocking a small enclosure together by recycling this fibreglass box i knocked up a while back
i stud welded 4 25mm threads on the back to trim off the speakers and routed 2 mdf rings when all together looks like this..
i then gor the rings powder coated and painted the silver domes black...
iv also trimmed the rings in carpet looks really neat
the inside edge of the box has been routed to create a ledge for a plexi glass window to fit..
carpeted the inside and drilled pre holes for dowles, screws now counter sunk n all flush..
speakers are now in the enclosure they look like there floating
and this little bad boy is going in the middleof the rear seat you can faintly see the quied lines on the seat..
few minor un-forseen things such as this seat support in the way im having to grind it of and re-position it
update tomorrow

why take out the rear seat and store it, then with the room you could build something in that space, after all once those speakers go in no-one will be sitting in there due wanting not to go deaf?
(just sayin')
#76: Re: 1.4 lx (CUSTOM FLOATING SPEAKERS IN REAR SEAT) Author: BioCustoms, Location: LeedsPosted: Sat Apr 28, 2012 2:14 pm ---- Can't compare it to a parcel shelf and the worlds worst speakers ever (6x9) lmao all it is, is a mini ported enclosure, well that's what I hope for but saying that I have never built anything so small with a plexi face

#81: Re: 1.4 lx (CUSTOM FLOATING SPEAKERS IN REAR SEAT) Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Sun Apr 29, 2012 6:25 am ---- 180 interiors are cheap as chips these days.
If worse comes to the worse, just buy a GTi180 for like £1500, take the interior out and chop the rest.
206's are dirt cheap these days

Agree, you can pick rear bench up for 50 squids which I did
#83: Re: 1.4 lx (CUSTOM FLOATING SPEAKERS IN REAR SEAT) Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Sun Apr 29, 2012 6:35 am ---- I butchered a full leather interior when they used to sell for about £500.
If you have the confidence and take you time and plan, there is a very slim chance of anything going wrong

#94: Re: 1.4 lx (CUSTOM FLOATING SPEAKERS IN REAR SEAT) Author: BioCustoms, Location: LeedsPosted: Wed May 02, 2012 2:50 pm ---- Iv now fitted the box for a test fit and its gonna look sweet ... Iv chose not to go for a plexi front cover, I was testing it out last night with and with out the cover ... With the cover it sounds quiet bassy but without the sound is crisp and you can hear every thing in the tune (I'll leave the bass to the subs) so I'm gonna leave it open so you can see the speakers bumping and trim it off with a custom surround that I will lazer tomorrow thingers crossed I'll have some pictures of it all fitted tomorrow

left the leather over lapping just waiting on the metal box trim .... i made it today at work but the programmer made the top and bottom edge 20mm too long and i didnt relise till it was cut, folded and welded .....
it will look like that but powder coated black cant wait to get it all fitted up.
iv also started again on the custom front grille
masked and protected,i took a die grinder and carfully sliced under the lights so i can position it perfect and re-fibreglass it

#99: Re: 1.4 lx (FEW NEW PICS) Author: BioCustoms, Location: LeedsPosted: Fri May 04, 2012 3:51 pm ---- still needs tweaking but its more or less finished im gonna knock up a slightly different trim just to fully flush it because i want to be 150% happy with it (the curse of being a perfectionist) but it still looks smart and sounds awsome .....

You would have been better putting a CC rear bench in and adding speakers to that.

would have gone for the vibe qb69 (grey ones) speaker though just for the shape and colour. You sould do the same on the bottom of the seat aswell?

Appreciate the input can you build on that post why are you not a fan, because you obviously not against putting speakers in because you say you would put them in the cc bench so what's so good about a cc bench compared to a 180 bench Last edited by BioCustoms on Sat May 05, 2012 10:45 am; edited 1 time in total

N cheers anton, n I have been tempted to do something with the bottom since it is now just a piece of lether on show doing nothing but I wan to inject abit of luxury in to it, i don't know anybody who enjoys sitting in the back and I don't want that to be the case.... I was thinking maybe two cup holders and a stealth fridge (and a 50 piece chandelier) lol

Mmmmm get a good quality wrap the link to the guy I used is on the 2nd page and it takes more heat to manipulate it so don't be scared and if you get any fold marks or anything like that don't panic its very forgiving and I used a tailors chalk to mark out the lines so it was perfect when cut and I would deffinetly use adesion prom 3m supply it ..... As it happens tho iv had a change of mind with mine because I'm wanting gloss now so I'm looking for a swap and 40 pound for the wrap used because I don't want to ruin the wrap thers nothing wrong with it Last edited by BioCustoms on Fri May 18, 2012 5:06 am; edited 1 time in total

I'd use it on all eges specialy edges that form a 90 degree bend and yes leave it around 20 to 15mm longer its prefrence really to how long you want to leave it just don't have it any leass then 10mm bud
#113: Re: 1.4 lx ...START OF THE BOOTBUILD :) Author: BioCustoms, Location: LeedsPosted: Tue Jun 05, 2012 3:37 pm ---- right guys had a little break from the car as iv been super busy with work but getting back on track now .. had some massive change of minds lately .......
to start with i wrapped the top of the tailgate
then i decided that i hated the wrap so iv stripped the wrap and gone on to gloss blacking it all..
flatted the tailgate and glossed the roof ..
bought some wide arched pretty good nick just needed a flat and a recolour all rubbers and clips ...
got my hands on this gti spoiler also pretty good condition sanded down and re glossed looks pretty smart
stripped the wrap off the bonnet goinf to weld the gap up and do something the the pollen filter vent might convert it in to a a box vent??
also got fed up with the grill i was fabricating so i bought this bad egg
i got the rest of my interior back today and it looks ace started buy putting the handbreak and gear stick surround back in...
