#5: Re: Starting the 206 problem Author: Debz, Location: Cardiff, South WalesPosted: Mon Mar 05, 2012 1:25 pm ---- That was my second thought, but I was hoping it was the cheaper option first. Any ideas how I would know which one is on its way out?? x
#6: Re: Starting the 206 problem Author: scottsgti, Location: ramsgatePosted: Mon Mar 05, 2012 1:32 pm ---- what do you mean by which one?
there's only one starter motor.
but there not to expensive really, can get new ones from 30-50 quid on ebay.
can probably get a second hand one for cheaper, if anyone's breaking up there 206 to sell.
#7: Re: Starting the 206 problem Author: Debz, Location: Cardiff, South WalesPosted: Mon Mar 05, 2012 1:34 pm ---- I meant for motor and battery, hoping it was the cheapest one thats on its way out.
Would a starter motor be easy to fit tho?? x
#8: Re: Starting the 206 problem Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Mon Mar 05, 2012 1:36 pm ---- Get the battery tested. If it's ok, then it'll be the starter motor or maybe even the spark plugs if it hasn't been serviced in ages.
If you need a starter motor, I have one that you can have and can drop it off either tomorrow or friday after work as I pass you anyway.
#9: Re: Starting the 206 problem Author: scottsgti, Location: ramsgatePosted: Mon Mar 05, 2012 1:38 pm ---- well a decent new battery would probably cost more than a starter motor to be honest, but from what you've said. i dont think it's the battery.
and i couldn't say about changing it, i've never done it. wouldn't think it's to hard of a job. but wouldn't take my word for it lol.
#10: Re: Starting the 206 problem Author: Debz, Location: Cardiff, South WalesPosted: Mon Mar 05, 2012 1:39 pm ---- Where can I get the battery tested very cheaply? xx
#11: Re: Starting the 206 problem Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Mon Mar 05, 2012 1:39 pm ---- Most garages or halfords will do it for free
