I have just got a 2000 firedance gti with 10 months mot for £350, the bodywork is mint and so is the interior but the engines tapping (cylinder head is f**ked i think) I have two options:
I break it for parts (which is what i was going to do anyway)
Or i fit the gti engine i have which has only done 65k and sell it with mot till dec 2012.

What do you guys think i should do??

If you've got the time and space, which you seem to, seemings you were going to do it anyway, I'd strip it.

If you have time & the rest of the car is mint then chuck the lump in & sell it as a runner.

Waste of time offering GTI bits on here with the amount of dreamers that are on the forum Wink

Add in the hassel of breaking it in the first place then getting rid of whats left.

Just remember to notify DVLA & change the engine number on the V5.

If I do fit the engine I would try and get £1000 for it. Will also change a few bits that need doing.

Would seem a shame to strip a GTI if its as mint as you say body & interior wise.

Also kills 2 birds with 1 stone, gets rid of your engine & saves you stripping another 206 / dealing with dreamers on here / ebay etc Wink

What He Said

It would take a hell of a lot longer to strip it. Also think of the tedious hours you would be wasting from your like wrapping things up to post.

I have just stripped a gti and sold pretty much everything, wasnt to bad but its a pain arranging collection and wrapping ect.
I have sold the engine i had but i think the buyer is a dreamer in which case i will put it in the firdance and look to sell it.
With the condition of the car and the fact it will have a low mileage engine do you think £1000 would be a good bace price?
SPEC:
Peco cat back stainless exhaust system
Ram air induction kit
17' 5 spoke alloys with good matching tyres
Brakes all good calipers painted blue
Interior ok no rips or tears
Full sp kit
10 months mot
Good rear beam (not lowered)

I will be replacing the front wishbones aswell

Have had a think and im goin to fit the engine I have and keep it as its a really good car and the beam is good. My moonstone gti has a f**ked rear beam as I found out earlier Sad so will be braking it soon. Is the firedance quite a rare colour?

Is it the 180 engine you have?

If it is and you change your mind about putting it in your other car let me know a price and I may have it.
