#4: Re: Little accident, any help :S Author: Bassline_Toad, Location: Chester, UKPosted: Fri Mar 09, 2012 12:14 pm ---- Wouldn't thought it'd re-tap easily if you've ripped the thread out, surely it's widened the hole :S
#5: Re: Little accident, any help :S Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Fri Mar 09, 2012 12:28 pm ---- Remember there are different sizes and also Bosch and Lucas drums

#9: Re: Little accident, any help :S Author: ARRAN, Location: WiltshirePosted: Fri Mar 09, 2012 12:53 pm ---- I'm running on three nuts on the rear and have been since tuesday or wednesday. Just take it steady and you shouldnt have any problems, but get it replaced ASAP. And keep checking the other three are tight

#17: Re: Little accident, any help :S Author: Rob2859, Location: HalifaxPosted: Fri Mar 09, 2012 6:35 pm ---- That is sick. Always have to push the boat out don't you
On a side note I have done the same. However I had a spare flat seated wheel bolt similar to the correct ones although it has got a double thread; as in similar to those where it has a thicker one at the back.
Went on like it was made for it and went up tight. I will change the drum when I get around to it but I have had no problems so far.
#18: Re: Little accident, any help :S Author: Alex90, Location: Newcastle-under-lymePosted: Fri Mar 09, 2012 7:01 pm ---- i did the same thing on the front 2 months ago,but not with one bolt, with two of them!!!,drove with 2 of them two weeks hehe:),but better change the drum, like lee wrote they are 2 diffrent types of break system lucas and bosh, and im sure you have to change bearing as well

But they where original designed & certified like that
The amount of people on this thread openly admitting to driving around with 1 or more defective wheel bolts truly shows the mentality of the idiots that are on here

It doesn't surprise me though, there are some real idiots out there, they shouldn't be allowed to own a car let alone drive one, no wonder the young'uns whinge when their insurance premiums are so high !!!!
#23: Re: Little accident, any help :S Author: Alex90, Location: Newcastle-under-lymePosted: Sat Mar 10, 2012 5:34 am ---- insurance is sky high because young ppl want to shows up...,not because wheels in their cars comming off
#24: Re: Little accident, any help :S Author: gixxerkev, Location: wiltshirePosted: Sat Mar 10, 2012 5:41 am ---- Well if your wheels come off and you have a crash then that's another statistic to hype insurance up. Simples

My GTi had 4 in the space of 6 months last year, but i know the lad is an absolute tool and wont spend money on cars, so will have just got the cheapest parts possible that are allready on there last legs.

Yes i believe the bolts sheered off. the wing took the impact iirc.
Having a wheel fall off is a major fail.
#32: Re: Little accident, any help :S Author: glenpring, Location: KENTPosted: Sun Mar 11, 2012 3:14 am ---- i had to get my locking wheel nut smashed off by the AA and they said it would be ok to drive with 3 to get another new nut
