use duct tape to apply one either side of your car, reduces body roll and cleans the road as you go!
Alternatively bushes are rubber grommets that allow a bit of flex and movement. When they wear you get excessive play in the joint.
You can see from this image, when the rubber begins to wear you'll get the excess play and eventually knocking/banging.

Always best to get OEM, I've found it false economy to get cheap pattern parts from motorfactors, they just never last as long.
