#2: Re: Changing key fob cover Author: Razpulsedj, Location: Partying with the Info ShufflersPosted: Fri Mar 23, 2012 4:24 am ---- Are you on about changing the actually key surround plastic part or converting to a flip key?
#3: Re: Changing key fob cover Author: Matt, Posted: Fri Mar 23, 2012 4:46 am ---- I think either way it's pretty easy.
Just remember to swap the immo chip over too.
#4: Re: Changing key fob cover Author: frankaai, Location: BelfastPosted: Fri Mar 23, 2012 4:56 am ---- swapping the cover over to the flip key, was going to buy a blank cover from ebay with blank key which il have to get cut, is it easy to just swap the circuit board over?
#5: Re: Changing key fob cover Author: Mikey2uk, Location: StevenagePosted: Fri Mar 23, 2012 5:04 am ---- Depends what key you have?
#6: Re: Changing key fob cover Author: frankaai, Location: BelfastPosted: Fri Mar 23, 2012 5:09 am ---- Right ok, i thought it was going to be a straight forward swap, mine is the usual 206 key with the screw at the bottom of the front face if that means anything? its the normal two button key
#7: Re: Changing key fob cover Author: JE_180, Location: WiltshirePosted: Fri Mar 23, 2012 5:17 am ---- Then yes it's easy, you may have to file the circuit board down a mm or so to make it fit properly as the blanks from eBay are a little hit and miss with the sizes (well mine was). But other than that it's take the immobiliser chip out of your old key, place it in the new one and then the same with the circuit board.
#8: Re: Changing key fob cover Author: Mikey2uk, Location: StevenagePosted: Fri Mar 23, 2012 5:18 am ---- Is it like this?
All so what flip key have you got?
#9: Re: Changing key fob cover Author: shadow, Location: gloucesterPosted: Fri Mar 23, 2012 5:21 am ---- changed mine to a flip key fob took less than 5 mins to change over, only problem you will have is the fob will only work one way because of the position of the transponder to unlock the ignition barrel and be able to turn the key.

well is it possible to buy the other type of 2 button one designed for the 206 but use the top off the one i have so it still looks more oem?
that way i get the correct key and fitment for the chip but the 2 buttons on top form the style of flip key i already have?
