Comms Unit replacement
-> 206 Problems

#1: Comms Unit replacement Author: fijidave, Location: Sussex PostPosted: Wed Mar 28, 2012 7:45 am

Afternoon,

my first post here, so be gentle with me!

I have a 2005 206 1.6 HDi GTi and have a problem with my headlights, dipped beam works fine but full beam has stopped working. Peugeot main dealer have quoted £499 all inc for a new comms unit which they say is at fault.

I don't have that sort of cash lying around, but unfortunately I don't really have the technical capabilities to replace anything myself.

Does anyone have any ideas how much I should be able to get this replaced for, outside of a main dealer? I'm based in W. Sussex

Cheers
Dave

The com2000 unit just to buy the part is £423.71.

£75 on top to fit it & then reset the ESP steering angle sensor with Peugeot Planet kit is a bargain.

Thanks for the reply,

is there any point in looking for a reconditioned unit and have that fitted? The £75 fitting is fine, it's the £423 part just to get the full beam working which is the bit I'm struggling with! Smile

Cheers
Dave

You might struggle to fine one for your 206 as only the GTI 180 & GTI HDI had ESP fitted as standard.

Some newer GTI also had it fitted to.

The ESP steering angle sensor is built in to the comm 2000 unit, thats why the price is so high.
