hey guys,

wel recently my gti has been having problems starting, before it started doing this it would start instantly at the turn of the key.

right, now when i go to start it, it can take anything from 3-6seconds to fire up, somtimes it spluter abit before firing up.

it does this when the engine is cold AND hot.

at times you can smell fuel if its took a while.

the car recently had a full filter & fluid change inc plugs. The car drives perfectly, no flat spots etc.

have tried some injector/engine cleaner, stil the same.

anyone got any ideas?

a friend of mine has some OBD2 diagnostics, would this show the problem at al?

thanks.

Karl.

If it smells of fuel it could be the coolant sensor at fault. It will run rich all the time if it's knackered.

If you have NGK in I would remove them the 206 does not like them

it runs perfectly normal once its started.

i wil double check though and replace with bosch if they are NGK, i know it had Denso plugs in when i serviced it.

Just trust us, NGK spark plugs + 206 = misfires / poor running / odd electrical faults Wink

Bosch plugs or OE Peugeot / Citroen ones only!
