Anybody had any 180 seats repaired. Have a few cigarette burns in mine from a previous owner that I want sorted. Also anybody have a rough idea of a price for about 3-4 holes?

Thanks

Im sure i read somewhere that you can obtain the fabric from peugeot? Then its just a case of finding a local company to change the material for the new swatch you have. Im guessing it wont be a cheap fix mind.

The material is only Alcantara which can be bought from some online fabric dealers, but then it's a case of finding someone to repair for you, I also am in the same boat but only 1 small hole which I'll attempt to repair myself

Morning Guys,

Alreet Razzzzzz Thumbs Up

I am "also" in the same boat as you guys.

However,

1. I bought the material, closer match to the original, looks good, £15+ vat per sq mtr.
(The original material was £33+ vat per sq mtr)

2. Removed passenger seat ready for my mates coach builders/fabricators/recover'ers to do the job.

3. Wasn't a problem taking the seat apart as they do all kinds of seats on a daily basis! Bish, Bash, Bosh done and dusted in seconds!

4. Phone call... "Not Good!" - The base material, seat area, curved and bucket shaped area "on mine" not sure about yours was bonded to the rubber/foam inner part with NO WAY of pulling it apart.

5. I went round to have a look, even he said, there's no reason WHY it's been done this way, usually you can just pull the seat apart and with a bit of jiggery pokery the material and leather slips away from the form/inner.

6. I was just thinking the base seated area would have been unstitched and a piece put in, easy! if only!

7. He resulted in cutting 4 small peices of material that matched the effected burn area's, applied some extra super dooper bond with a match stick end and pushed on the piece of material. Looks better than having burn holes but NOT the idea I had in mind!

So maybe it's just mine, yours MAY be different. But that's my story.

Costs, He was going to charge me £25 per seat, just as a guide.

I hope this helps you all out and some unwasted efforts.

I think i will be happy with any sort of fix so im not looking at burn holes everytime i hoover the car! I wont need much of the material id say my holes are about a few cm each if that Smile

Thanks again for the patch up kit dropping my address in a PM now mate
