#3: Re: bonnet insulation Author: MrZiggerz, Location: Milton KeynesPosted: Fri Apr 06, 2012 8:54 am ---- Mines off due to it rubbing on bits in the bay and looking a bit tatty.
#4: Re: bonnet insulation Author: Rob.Be, Location: BelgiumPosted: Fri Apr 06, 2012 8:57 am ---- its only there to reduce noise, i don't think it has any other purpose, i have mine out right now due to a repaint I'm in the process of, but will put mine back to save the neighbours when i come home at all hours
#5: Re: bonnet insulation Author: gazza82, Location: South BucksPosted: Fri Apr 06, 2012 9:05 am ---- It also helps protect the bonnet from the engine heat ...
#6: Re: bonnet insulation Author: MattyP, Location: PlymouthPosted: Fri Apr 06, 2012 9:06 am ---- i removed mine as soon as i bought my 206, prefer to see the nicely painted underside of a bonnet then some horrible material
#7: Re: bonnet insulation Author: MrBSI, Location: What's it to you? ? ?Posted: Fri Apr 06, 2012 9:24 am ---- I actually retrofitted it to my TU3 206, reduces noise a little bit & also stops the injectors getting damaged when the washer jets leak water
#8: Re: bonnet insulation Author: spike_202, Location: West midsPosted: Fri Apr 06, 2012 9:39 am ---- Lol if you haven't seen my set up you'd know I'm not to fussed about the noise yer it's just rubbing on my c/f engine cover and don't want it to rub the laquer off
#9: Re: bonnet insulation Author: Dillon, Location: KentPosted: Fri Apr 06, 2012 9:44 am ---- Bin it
#10: Re: bonnet insulation Author: 138Andy, Location: NottsPosted: Fri Apr 06, 2012 10:33 am ---- buy a new nice looking one ?
It also helps protect the bonnet from the engine heat ...
Did 300 miles in a motorway journey averaging 100 mph through Germany and the washer jet tubes weren't even soft... (checked because i was paranoid it would melt) maybe in summer it protects against heat?
#12: Re: bonnet insulation Author: 138Andy, Location: NottsPosted: Fri Apr 06, 2012 11:16 am ---- put it this way , if it did nothing peugeot wouldn't waste money putting it on
#13: Re: bonnet insulation Author: Andrew, Location: Black Country Ay IPosted: Fri Apr 06, 2012 12:20 pm ---- Mine never had one :S mind you mine was built in France so they probably skimped on everything they could knowing it was going to the British market!
What is it, like felt stuff?
#14: Re: bonnet insulation Author: codyrush, Posted: Mon Sep 17, 2012 5:58 am ---- It is for protection from the heat. Just install it properly. A charity that makes winter jackets for the homeless recently received a substantial gift from General Motors. The company donated excess car insulation, which makes the coat lining. I have to buy a car that works well for me.
