#1: Alternator ampage Author: ma.langan, Location: Leyland, LancashirePosted: Tue Apr 17, 2012 2:51 am ---- Just a quick question, what amp and volts should my alternator be running.
It's a 1.4hdi and I'm only getting 12v and 26amp with the engine running?
Think my alternator is beggered
Thanks

However that should be with a known-good digital multimeter.
Amps will depend on what is switched-on at the time (headlights, charging, ECU's etc)
