Super Unleaded Q

#1: Super Unleaded Q Author: PoppyChild, Location: Lancs PostPosted: Tue Apr 17, 2012 3:25 am

I have a 206 LX auto and it's started being quite 'juddery' when I first set off (actually not when I set off forwards, only if I straight away do a 3 point turn) a friend said it sounds like a petrol block and I should chuck some cleaner in there, but I've read that using super unleaded will keep it clean. So I just wanted to check with you guys whether that's true? about it cleaning/keeping it clean, I don't really want to go putting things that aren't petrol into my petrol tank.. my OCD just wont allow it lol

simply changing the fuel filter might be a cheap and easy start.

Super does have cleaning agents in it but I would suggest you get some one competent to check your car over as it could be a few things.

Is that easy (aka requires no skill?)

If its only 'juddery' when doing a '3 point turn', it sounds more like a clutch, drive shaft, or steering problem to me rather than a fuelling issue.

It sounds more gearbox related with it being an auto. my auto box used to be a bit slow when cold and would cause the revs to dip pretty low when selecting reverse when the car was first started. Has the gearbox oil been checked/changed?

It's not every time, generally just in the morning, I can do the turn 3 or 4 times a day after that and it's fine (live in a small cul-de-sac I don't just go round randomly changing direction).

Not since I've had it unless that's covered under the very generic 'check all fluid levels' on a service.

Was having a look on the problems board and someone mentioned an MAP sensor fault which sounds similar.. so I'll just get him looked at by someone who has a clue.

Thanks for the replies Very Happy
