Ive got my mot on monday and my front fog lights have not worked sinced ive had the car, i know you don't have to have fog lights on your car but if you do and they don't work is it an MOT failure??.

I have passed one with my number plate split in half before. However rules are changing but I don't think it will be a issue.

I put my punto in for it's test last week and they didn't even check the front fogs so I guess it would depend on who's testing it. With all the changes they have brought in lately it could go either way though.

If the lights are there... they should work - Thats the way it works.
If your worried about it then either fix it or remove them before going in.
They cant test whats not there

Also go get some new numberplates made up over the weekend. Somewhere like halfords if you cant get anywhere else in time. Dont give them any excuse to fail it.

I think you can check on service box under vehicle characteristics if it left the factory with front fogs fitted.
Have you checked the bulbs. It would take anyone with a bit of knowledge less than 2 minutes to take the bulbs out of 206 front fogs while it is parked up. There are some cheap skates out there that would prefer to pinch them rather than put their hand in their pockets and shell out a few quid for a new set.
